In Red Faction, players find themselves in the middle of a rebellion on the hostile surface of Mars fighting for their freedom against the evil Ultor Corporation. Featuring a sophisticated physics engine, five fully controllable vehicles, a variety of unique natural environments, and Volition's proprietary Geo-Mod Technology, Red Faction is one of the most advanced second-generation titles ever released for the PlayStation 2. Geo-Mod technology supports the real time, arbitrary modification of the geometry that makes up the game’s environment. This means that players have the full ability to destroy whatever they want. Just point a weapon at an object or structure and shoot -- total destruction always follows.

    This game came out before Halo and many pieces were copied by halo.
    This game copies Some of the Great things from Half-Life.
    I played this Game in its entirety.
    The Story is very engrossing.
    There are some vehicle sequences in the game, Not quite to the extent as they were in halo, but certain points were better.
    Vehicles Include the Submarine, a Fighter ship, Driller, Armored Personnel Carrier, and my Favorite the ATV jeep type warthog vehicle. Unlike Halo1 you get to man the Gunner Position (Something Halo did not get until Halo2).
    The Weapons have a good Variety 15 in all (Pistols, Machine Guns, Snipers, Rail Gun, Rocket Launchers, Flame Thrower (Oh yeah).

    Bottom Line:
    If you Liked Half-Life, Halo, Half-Life2, Halo2
    Then this is the Type of game for You. Keep in mind it is from 2001, but this is one of those great story games that is fun to play.
    There is Split Screen Deathmatch, but no Online.

    This game ranks up there as one of my all time favorite games.
