Description
Read Dead Revolver is a third-person gun slinging action game, powered with arcade-style gameplay that takes place in the Wild West era. In a nod to westerns like Once Upon a Time in the West, the game's story sees the family of young protagonist, Red, brutally massacred by Mexican General Diego. With his father's gun in hand, Red later sets out on a deadly mission of pure blood vengeance. As the game progresses, Red learns how to ride, mount and dismount a horse, and wield an arsenal of weapons from pistols and shotguns to rifles and dynamite. There are 30 different weapons altogether. Originally commissioned by Japanese publisher Capcom, the game was picked up by Rockstar (who bought the game's developer Angel Studios) after being in limbo for more than a year.

Feels like an old western movie...

This game is great for anyone looking for a game that puts you right in an old west film. There's a decent amount of weapons, and I especially liked the music. Rounds tend to be on the short side, but the fast paced action complete with a bullet-time like multiple targeting and "draw mode" make up for it. This game is also good at not using the same ideas over and over again, as most rounds are totally unique with several rounds putting you in other character's shoes. I found this game to be a good time.

What does a scorpion have to do with a western game?

This game is one of the best games i've had the chance to play. It's easy to learn, it's fun, and there are plenty of things to do. But, why not a five, because of the clarity, it actually looks like an old western movie when you play it, so it's made to be grainy, yet perfectly clear. It's both a godsend, for you against enemy's, yet a pain, for you against enemy's. It is a marvel in the way it all goes together, the story line, the weapons, and the multiplayer games. The card system inside the multiplayer head to head or team games, is ingenious in the way it works. Every time you kill someone a giant card appears above them. These cards, each color coded, can give you different power ups, red for weapons, blue for more ammo, green for health, and yellow for other things. Along with this, it plays like a texas hold 'em game, where you start out with two cards, and every card you pick up is used for every one, and if you get a good hand, you get a power up, along with what you get otherwise!
