Reba - The Complete Fourth Season (DVD, 2009, 6-Disc Set)

I must admit, when my wife & I first caught some reruns of Reba, we weren't impressed. Fortunately, there came a day when there was nothing else on TV & we were forced to check it out again. We stuck with it & in time Reba grew on us. Reba is now a favorite causing us to begin buying the series on DVD.

Reba follows the everyday life of recently divorced mother Reba Hart, played of course by Reba McEntire. Reba must deal with a variety of issues caused by her children, her ex-husband & her ex's new wife who is his former mistress & caused the breakup of Reba's marriage.

The final season provides numerous new problems for Reba to deal with as she desperately tries to keep her family together as they grow up & start to grow apart. Van & Cheyenne have decided to have another child & want to move out of Reba's house. Kyra decides to return to live at Reba's house before she goes off to college, but finds the same old "Rules" that were the partial cause of her leaving to live with her father in the 1st place. Jake is getting older & reaching puberty which presents it's own problems.

Reba is also forced to deal with the problems of ex-hubby Brock & new wife Barbara Jean whose marriage is still in trouble. Reba has grown to like BJ & they have even become friends much to Reba's dismay.

All these factor & you have a show featuring tons of laughs as we watch Reba try to hold her family together as her Prima donna Prom Queen Oldest daughter battles with her super smart but abrasive #2 daughter, Reba constantly zings her nemesis replacement, Reba fights with her cheap ex-husband & tries to deal with again pregnant daughter & a less than bright son in law!

The actors are very good in their roles. Christopher Rich plays Reba's ex Brock & Melissa Peterman is fantastic as his goofy mistress/new wife Barbara Jean. Joanna Garcia is Reba's oldest daughter Cheyenne who provides plenty of eye candy despite spending much of this season with a pregnant belly. She is also perfect as Reba's not so bright, spoiled self centered oldest. Steve Howey Is Cheyenne's hubby Van & is wonderful as the ultimate dim witted jock. His performance is sometimes way over the top, but it works well for his flamboyant character! Scarlett Pomers is Reba's #2 daughter Kyra who is the brains of this household, but she is also the cloud as she tries to get out from under her pretty & popular older sister. Mitch Holleman plays Reba's youngest Jake who is really overwhelmed by the more high profile characters in this season, but he comes into his own in later seasons. There are plenty of additional characters who show up with familiar faces from many other sitcoms such as Will & Grace, Newhart & Empty Nest.

Reba was a pleasant surprise! I highly recommend it!

Great show. Family oriented for middle school age children and up. Good realistic show about a single mom doing her best to deal with hot topics like teenage pregnancy, her husband's mistress(who wants nothing more than to be her best friend) and helping her middle school age and elementary age child cope, while she returns to work and life!!! Very funny!! Sure to make you laugh out loud!

I had never seen any of the Reba shows until last winter because I worked all of the time. And when I finally had an opportunity to catch a few re-runs on Dish, I enjoyed them so much I decided to purchase the entire set. And I am so glad I did. We have gotten more entertainment out of this set of DVD's than any others we have ever purchased. It is great family entertainment! Reba's character is so true to life! She deals with most of the insanity in her life in a such a lighthearted and humorous way that you can't help but laugh outloud! If you have never seen the entire set, I strongly urge you to do so! You won't be sorry! I sit and paint a lot for my ebay store, so I pop them in the player throughout the day and watch them as I work! They always put me in a good mood! My daughter (she's 24) saw an episode on TV and requested the entire season. I purchased it as one of her Christmas gifts. My wife and I watched the first 5 episodes with her. We all found it hilarious. In a dark world where so much comedy seems angry, this is a refreshing side splitter. Find it, buy it, and have fun

Our whole family loves the Reba show and my daughter has the first 3 seasons and this season dvd set was on her Christmas List.

I love this show and think Reba and Barbara Jean are absolutely halarious. I can't wait for the 5th season to come out.

I have enjoyed the 4th season of Reba very much. I've watched it several times & it is still funny! I like that they never let their problems get them down & always see the humor in life. When I need a pick-me-up I pop in one of the DVDs of Reba. I don't always have time to sit through a 2 hr. movie & with this it takes less than 30 minutes to watch one of the shows.
I recommend Reba Season 4 as well as Reba Seasons 1, 2 & 3.

This is a hilarious show. Who knew a talented country singer could have such amazing comedic timing? The interactions between Reba and all the characters is fantastic. The writers are very talented and the show is just a great time. I bought the dvds because I just don't get tired of watching this group of people especially when I need a little humor to brighten my day. I am just waiting for them to release the last season on dvd so I can get that too.
