The Real Thing by Bar-Kays (The) (CD, Oct-2003, JEA Records)

I picked this up because I was an old school Bar-Kays fan and was very disappointed and so were many of my friends and family who listened to it. What a sell out. If you like the hip hop new school junk that is out - you'll love this! Without Allen Jones this band is lost! On the track "Bar Kays" they claim they're the old school and can keep up the funk but fail to do so. The disc is a total waste so spend your hard earned cash on the older stuff ! The "House Party" disc is also a remix of this disc and doesn't sound much better, in other words, IT SUCKS TOO !!!! If you love the funk check out their old stuff.
