Taking a cue from peers such as Def Leppard and Shaw Blades (Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger), Tesla issued a covers album, REAL TO REEL, in 2007. The California hard-rock act's first outing since its '04 studio reunion record, INTO THE NOW finds raspy-voiced frontman Jeff Keith leading the band through a well-selected set of classic-rock gems that includes a faithful rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" and a stomping take on the James Gang's "Walk Away."

    First thing after opening this disc I responded with shock. Where is the second disc?!? Then I read the find print...

    *WARNING: REEL 2 disc not inside this box! REEL 2 can only be obtained by purchasing a concert ticket to a Tesla headline concert in 2007. Fairs and Festivals not included. Check with your local venue or the website for details.

    Ok, no biggie Tesla puts on a great show. So I check the tour schedule... and of course it's coming nowhere near me. How lame is that, so now what??? How do I get my second disc to fill the empty case?

    All these problems aside, it's a great album. My personal favorites include the Temptations Ball Of Confusion and UFO's Rock Bottom. Tesla is a very talented band and it really shines through on this collection of cover songs. Now I just need to get disc 2 so I can check out War Pigs!
