The Real Casino (DVD, 2004)

Very excited can't wait to watch an excellent documentary. I was very impressed with how quickly I could purchase items over ebay with no hassel.

I totally disagree w/ the review above. I thought the film was very illuminating on the 'back home' aspect of where these real people were from and what they were like. I also thought the film went into depth about both Spilotro, Joe Pesci, and Dorfman, Alan King. I also thought the film was pretty well crafted. It was cut and shot well w/ the grainy footage mixed in with the stock video and interviews.

It also presented a very interesting compare/contrast with the film. It was certainly not a huge budget, but compared to alot of documentaries I've seen it was very well done. I think the problem is most people just don't get the reality of the mob life and they're expecting some glitzy and glamorous thing, the whole point of the fil m is to take away the sheen of the mob lifestyle.

A very facinating film into the behind the scenes goings on with the mob and casino gambling.
You seldom get this kind of inside look of the mafia.
The documetary is obviously low budget but it is well done. I disagree with the reviewer who compared the quality of this provacative documentary to the very expensive big time hollywood movie. Obviously a big budget hollywood movie is going to have a higher movie quality, but this documentary is still very well done.
I think this film is a good choice for anyone who is fascinated with the mob, Las Vegas or the history of casino gambling in the USA.
