The title left me little doubt that this was going to be a covert action at best, and in Tehran it would most certainly involve some strong characters. I was right.
This book is a must read for anyone curious about the restricted conditions women live under in Iran, and how some prevail and manage to share not only books , but under the harshest penalties, their own personal lifes.
It deals with religion and power. How a small group of educated women make it a point to stay under the radar of the religious police, but somehow in their own ways pushing the envelope to the limit. We cringe at certain actions and laugh with them in their secret attempts at freedom from the oppression under the noses of those that would wish them only harm.
I love this book.
