Rat Patrol - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2006, Full Screen)

I had some old VHS Rat patrol that looked like they were copied in a garage, but these DVD's are better and clearer than I ever remember them on TV in 1966. I watch them over and over, just to see the US half-tracks churn up the sand. My family keeps saying: you're watching that AGAIN? The sound effects and the cutting to stock shots of tracks and wheels usually don't match the vehicles. Improvising German vehicles out of what was available to the filmmakers is interesting. The story lines are corny, and like the cowboy movies the good guys rarely get shot or run out of bullets. This show was so close to me and my friends in the 60's, that when I got a Jeep in the 70's and we ran it around in the dirt and mud we called it "playing Rat Patrol", NOT "four-wheeling" or "off-roading". These are great fun nostalgic TV shows. And to top it all off, Hauptman Dietrich is still on TV in soaps, what a hoot! BUY THIS

Campy 60's television where Americans and Germans shoot at each other badly with alot of automatic weapons, nobody bleeds (except in the shoulder), and two jeeps take on the whole German Army with great aplomb. Makes you proud to be an American, in technicolor.

Both my husband and myself love the old shows that were on TV. Purchasing these not only brings back fond memories, but they are great entertainment, one that is good for the entire family and guest. You don't have to worry about anything in these shows that you would not want young children to watch as they are all good for any age group.

The quality (video and audio) of the set of Rat Patrol DVD's I purchased is excellent. I purchased some old tv series western DVD's from another vender and was very disapointed in the quality. I guess and learned my lesson and now research the product and vender. Will make future buys from this vender.

This is great. I loved watching the Rat Patrol growing up but never the commercials. The quality now appears to exceed when it was on broadcast television. I will buy all the series eventually.

I watched Rat Patrol in the seventies, and never missed an episode, like the story lines and plots, and it even showed some humanitarian episodes where the Rat Patrol and the Germans would have a truce and work together to save a life, whether another soldier or a child.
I would recommend this series to anyone who was interested in the war,and the way which each side had to go through.I even found the Second Series of Rat Patrol and purchased it from Ebay also, am pleased with the episodes.

Loved it as a kid and all these years later still love it. Totally unreal but fun. The good guys are the good guys and they always win.

I remember watching the Rat Patrol on television when it was on the air the first time. When I saw the chance to buy the set, I did. My son were small when it ran on television orginially but they remembered it so that was another reason I purchased the set.

I bought this for my husband as it was one of his favorite TV shows while growing up. I actually watched it every week myself but if I remember correctly it was because of some of the really cute guys on the show!! My husband was pretty surprised when I gave it to him. He had no idea the series was out on DVD.

Like another reviewer mentioned, this show was hugely influencial to me as a kid. Just like he did, my brother and I got ourselves a jeep in our teens and rode to the beach standing up in the back holding on to the roll bar. And then I joined the Army and became a cavalry scout and got to do RAT PATROL for real firing a machine gun out the back. How's that for LIVING IT! Although I have to confess, that I never took on an armored convoy with two machine guns like they did every week on the show :)

This was purchased for my son as a gift since I remembered him stating that he used to love the Rat Patrol re-runs on TV when he was a kid.
He loves this set.
