It is a wonderful reading. I enjoyed this book as a child and have enjoyed it as an adult listening to it in audio format. The author exhibits his vast amount of knowledge and creativity of the pre-historic world.

) There is a version with Dr. Bakker narrating and it is HORRIBLE! His voice over and screaching practically make you wince and remove headphones. Do yourself a favor a purchase Megan's verion. She does a perfect job of showing the emotion in the story.

) One of my favorite books, but this audio version is ruined by the sound effects and the reading by Megan Gallagher. As much as I like her in other areas, she is just sound too gentle and wistful, almost serene, for this rousing tale. If only Dr. Bakker himself could have done the narration. He's great when he gets into a subject!!!
