Rapid Interpretation of EKG's by Dale Dubin (2000, Paperback)

By far the most understandable book on the subject of reading rhythm strips. Our Paramedic EKG textbook was so complicated that 1 hour in Dubin's book cleared up all uncertainty. I would highly recommend this book to any healthcare provider or student.

The EKG book by Dale Dubin is great for any student trying to grasp the concept of reading EKGs. Such an easy to read format, different from any other text that I have ever read. It was almost enjoyable to read the book, especially since cardiology is an interesting subject to me.

I recommend this book to anyone who is new to the topic.

As an M.D. who specializes in internal medicine, the Rapid Interpretation of EKG's is considered the gold standard for any physician, P.A. or nurse practioner who works in primary care. Somehow my book was lost, and I rely heavily on this book as I am not a cardiologist. This book is concise and very easy to use. Would recommend this manual to anyone who practices in primary care and who preforms EKG's in their office.

Rapid Interpretation of EKG's has been the bible of EKG Interpretation for years. I especially like the new color version because it makes visualization easier. The author, Dr. Dale Dubin, takes a lot of intricate and complicated information and breakes it down into digestable pieces, then brings it all together for the most thorough picture of abnormal EKG's. The book covers the anatomy and physiology of the normal heart, as well as the cardiac changes that are reflected on the EKG. The reader will learn how to read the various abnormal EKG tracings, and most importantly, will understand what cardiac alterations causes those changes. In my opinion, the best and most thorough book about EKG's.

I was an EKG tech for a year and I was taught about reading EKGs. However, I have learned more in the first chapter of this book than a year in the field. It makes it very basic to begin so it ensures that you understand the very basics before going on to more advanced ideas. It also ensure that you actually LEARN the material, rather than memorize by repeating the big concepts. I wish all books were written like this!

I was reading the book and pages, that were glued in, started falling out. I had to buy a three ring binder, punch holes in the book, and now have it in the binder. It's a great book. It really explais EKGs to you like you are a 6 year old, but this book isn't made well. Take the good with the bad when you buy used. Good price but who knows what you'll get.

I bought the book about a month ago for PA school. I love the book and I use it alot for my case studies and treatments.

Awesome book! A fast read and very helpful for internal medicine clerkships and 3rd year clerkships in general.

Its a great love for learning basics and pattern recognition. I do have to warn you that don't expect to learn more advanced techniques from this book, but it gives you a great beginners view. I used it for my cardio class in graduate school and it was great for me to learn the basics and build my foundation.

This book should actually be called "EKGs for Dummies." It is the only book that simplifies the EKG enough to teach anyone and everyone. I was horrible at EKG interpretation, until I read this book. I thought I woould never understand them, but alas, this book was thew only resource that was able to teach me. This is a MUST buy for those struggling to read EKGs.

I think this book is wonderful. I have had such a hard time with interpreting EKG's. It is an essential when you work with telemetry. This book breaks it down to easy to understand the what and why. I have studied many sources of info,including web sites lectures and books. I was reading one of our doctors books. It was an earlier version of this book he used for school. I was so impressed that I wanted my own copy. It has an easy progressive format. It is written with bullets so it isn't dry or difficult to understand. The author presents it with a sense of humor and easy to understand analogies. There are also reference cards in the back that are great portable quick references. I would purchase this again in an instant.

This is probably the best EKG book on the market. I am a novice to EKGs, and this book helped take me to the next level. Everything is explained in simple terms. Not only does it help you identify rhythms, it teaches you why the rhythms appear the way they do so you have a better understanding. If you want to improve your EKG reading skills, this is the book to help you do it.

I highly reccomned this book for all those who want to learn to read EKG's. It is very readable and easy to follow!
