Review of Rapala Fishing for the Nintendo Wii

Ah fishing. The minute I put this game into the
Wii I felt like I was on a boat, or in for a cheesy
gaming experience!

The first half an hour in the game I found I had to
learn how to drive the boat (5 min) and cast (25 min).

Once I learned how to cast I was in for a cheesy gaming
experience. In fact, it was so ... bad that it was
fun in a campy sort of way.

You get to pick you line, lure, rod, and person. Once you
do this you and a computer sidekick (who babbles the most
witless banter) go out fishing! You can compete in
tournaments and win new tackle and such. I guess your goal
is to become a master fisher.

I tell you the graphics are interesting. The use of
the Wii remote is good, but hard to get at first. The game
graphics are ok and the play is also ok. Yet I still kept
playing for the campy sort of things. Having the Wii's AI
sidekick telling me that I should change my lure, comment
about my driving/boating abilities, and babbling about
the location I picked to fish were funny.

Overall 2/5. Worth picking up if you are a die hard bass
fisher and watch the Bass fishing shows on TV.
Otherwise just rent it.

This game is extreasmly boreing and if you want to buy it you should at least rent it first to see if it's your kind of game.

I LOVE THIS GAME! I could play all day! I love the tournaments, the progression and the learning curve. My kids think it's great to play as well. I love the fact it's different areas, fish and quite a wide variety of rods and lures. Very happy when my husband bought this game for me.

We really enjoyed this game. Drive the boat, choose lures, fishing spots etc etc etc. A great game for those who love to fish!

I played Zelda and liked the fishing in that game. I got all excited to buy Rapala when it was released. Played once hated it.

Fun game if you are the fishing type. Catch 100-lb fish in Africa or huge bass in Florida. Lots of lakes to fish from. Graphics are decent but playability is high.

It is a good game. Pretty fun if you like fishing games and even if you don't, like I didn't, this ones pretty entertaining.

Bought this game Because I love fishing. The controls on this are very bad,they did not take advantage of the Wiimote its like an afterthought for them.If you like fishing the mini game in Zelda is way beter than this(fun and control). Save your money and stay away from this.

Worst one of all...Wii features not exploited and graphics are terrible
Only use wii's motion sensing features for casting (which is lame) and setting hook (awkward).

This game is amazing. I think anything to do with fishing and Wii is going to be fun. I have played it for hours and love it. Caught a 31 lb muskie. If you like fishing and interacting with the Wii then this is totally for you.

bought the game and immediately impressed with the number of features availabe on this game. the game whas vary good! it is just i do not have the time to play
on the game.

Our favorite part of the game is catching the peacock bass in the Amazon.. it's just like catching the real thing!

It is a quickly done fishing game with no challenge at all...The gameplay is not original and do not exploit the Wii capabilities in term of motion detection...It is hard to cast, reeling is boring (just push a button), graphics are poor...It is just a game sold under the name RAPALA to screw fishing lovers with a reputable brand...

My children and I love the game and the challenge to get the biggest catch. My kids are ages 5 and 7. The only downfall is that only one player can play at a time.

Way complicated, even when you hook a fish it bores you to sleep, it's actually just an advertisement for Rapala lures. Don't let your boat get hung up on a stump or your game is over as the computer won't let you get it off. It took about 15 minutes to lose any interest in playing it again.

I bought this game because our Wii system is new to us, and I wanted my husband to get involved with using and enjoying it. He plays with our grandson and loves it. Thanks

Great game, I have read some of the other reviews and I don't get it. This game is as realistic as actually going fishing. My 4 year old grandson figured out how to cast in less than 5 minutes and he has never fished before. It is a game that is fun for all ages . This is one of the funner challenging games out there. As far as the guides go , they are there to help you!.I am completely satisfied with this game!

The game is below average due to the lack of effort put into the graphics and accuracy of the gameplay. Save your money and time.

This was a great game, the entire family sat in the living room and played this game almost all Christmas day. Great game that is fun and entertaining for the whole family.

very nice graphics compared to other games! Lots of lakes to fish from, lots of fish to catch! This game is great for fisherman who cant get out on the lake because of weather conditions!

The game is fun for kids, once you get the hang of driving and casting. The kids seem to enjoy being able to drive the boat and see underwater. It took hours for the kids to be able to cast and they still, at times get frustrated. We have a fishing pole that the remote and nunchuk are in and that seems to make it a little more realistic, however, it makes casting harder. The graphics and locations aren't the greatest, but the kids seem to like the idea that they were able to catch a whopper in Africa. The downside to the game is when you catch a whopper, you have to "net" the fish on a subgame screen and enter a code correctly to land the fish. Little kids who "catch" the fish but are unable to "land" the fish no longer ask to play this game anymore. They enjoy the playstation fishing game better from way back when. I would recommend this game for children, but we adults find it quite boring and easily beaten.

I paid for the item right away, as soon as I won the item and never recieved it! I wish I knew what it was like. No communication from seller after many, many e-mails! Very upsetting, still trying to get my money back.
