Rambo (DVD, 2008, Widescreen)

Rambo is a new movie that was released by Sly as he revisits the second of his franchise characters.

This movie finds a small intro that is very violent about troubles in Burma. It is basically newsreel type quality. This sets the stage for the bad guys in the movie.

The story finds Rambo capturing cobra's and other snakes (NOT RATTLESNAKES!) in the jungle. He is recruited by missionaries to take them up the river to Burma.

Eventually the missionaries are captured and Rambo takes a group of mercenaries that have been hired to rescue the missionaries up to Burma.

It is at this point that we get past the quiet brooding Rambo and we see the action that we remember from Rambo. There is the arrow attacks, the big guns, personal attacks with a machete/knife.

The main difference between the other Rambo movies and this one is the level of violence. Blood is flying, guts are spilling, limbs are flying, and the odd head ends up on a stick. It is very violent and lots of bullets are fired. Be careful with this movie with younger children.

The only reason why I did not put poor as my rating is because the movie plays. Other than that, I'm still pretty pissed. It didn't have a case, it was scratched up, and after further investigation I noticed it wasn't even a real copy. It was a burnt copy. Isn't that illegal?

i like to watch this moive. it brand new of box unopened of dvd case. it nice. why i buy this. because some of my friends told me about this movie. they said i should buy this movie. so i was ahead to buy it. but i was love this.

If you like lots of blood and body parts flying all over the screen this movie is for you.

If you like movies that inspire or have a plot, then skip this one.

The story line was below average, the acting was predictable and nothing that happens in this move comes as any kind of a surprise.

Stallone is a great actor, and a good write, but he needs to wake up and admit he is too old to be an action hero.

this rambo is really intense and in depth full of excitment drama and is a rambo that is a must see movieif you like rambo youll love this one

Great revisit on a classic. Picks up where Rambo 1, 2,3 left off and puts and end to old John Rambo search for a home. Not to mention, a capping scene that rivals up there in the top 10 blast em ups of all times. LOSTA FUN BLOOD AND GORE. Way to go Rambo.

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST OF THE RAMBOS. GREAT STORY LINE! VERY MUCH ENJOYED IT, AND I'M NOT ONE FOR WATCHING TOO MANY SHOOT EM' WAR TYPE MOVIES.

I purchased Rambo to finish my First Blood saga. It was on a pre release sale,I could not see it Or finish the series beacuse I never recieved it. Not much more to say or review.

STALLONE HAS AGED BUT YOU CAN'T TELL FROM THIS FILM!THE MOVIE HAS A SLOW START BUT IS ACTION PACKED THROUGH OUT!

I was a bit hesitant, but This was An Awesome Movie. I have all the Rambo Movies and I am so glad I bought this one. Very Good, Great Effects. My husband and I really Enjoyed this one. I rate it Excellent. If you have the Others Buy this one No disappointments at all.

I enjoyed the dialogue, the actors,the storyline was good too. Aloy of semi graphic violence. I bought it due to friend recomending it and the price could not be beat.

Best Rambo so far. Action packed. Lots of fire power and blow ups. I reccomend this movie to anyone who enjoys action packed movies. You won't regret it.

I really liked this movie. It was equal to all the others. I wasn't disappointed at all. I thought it was going to be just another pointless sequel. It was great. Stallone was great. It was gory, Rambo kicked butt as usual!

Sylvester is a great actor in Rambo, and looks great!!! I bought it to share with others to watch. I've already watched it twice!

This is a great action movie. Best Rambo yet. Lots of action, blood & guts. Sly is a lot older in this movie, but it's great how they didn't try to make him younger. The shooting is very realistic. All the special effects are done great.

This movie is seriously awesome. If you think the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan was brutal, you haven't seen anything until you've seen Rambo. Rambo is also short and to the point, we get absolutely no long, drawn out scenes and the movie is just plain intense. It is also very accurate as to what goes on over in countries like Myanmar(Burma), which adds to the realisticality of the movie. The plot is very simple to understand but yet so, so effective. Some scenes may be hard for some people to watch (especially the 2-3 minute scene of the village being attacked and brutalized by the Burmese soldiers), but scenes like this is what makes the movie because it makes you root for Rambo to come in and kill and torture every single one of them for what they do. So, what this movie involves is pretty much this: Rambo is asked to escort some Christian aid workers into a village to help the people that live there and then they get captured by the Burmese soldiers, then which Rambo and a ragtag group of mercenaries must go save them and kill every enemy in their path. You see limbs being torn off, heads exploding, hundreds of bullets piercing through bodies and much more, it's insane. Buy or rent this movie and get ready for 1hr and 20mins of brutally intense action that you do not get to come across too often.

RAMBO (2008) should be mandatory viewing for all citizens in the United States ?

Why do I say this ?

We as a society have had it so good for so long that too many of our people take our quality of life for granted today and thus sit back with apathy as warning signs pop up in front of us everyday that the America we loved and respected and was once great.... is eroding away from within every day.

It's depressing to see this once great nation rot from within like the Roman Empire did before us.

Along these lines, too many American citizens today know almost nothing about the world beyond AMERICAN IDOL and GREYS ANATOMY TV shows.

No lie....... when my wife and I were leaving the theatre after seeing RAMBO (2008) a group of 30-something adults were walking in front of us.....
They commented to each other.....
"Is Burma a real country or did they make that up for the movie ?"

Many people focus only on the violence in this film and perhaps miss the larger symbolism that Stallone often interjects into his films.

Rambo, like many of us in our late 40s and older see people in power making the same mistakes, people becoming less thoughtful and considerate of others and basically see the damage caused by open door immigration and unchecked urban growth.

It all seems to prove the old adage to be more true than ever........

"Its a shame man's moral and social development fails to keep pace with his technological advances".

RAMBO reminds us of the type of integrity and determination and self-analysis real heroes and leaders go thru in life.

Unfortunately we see little of these noble characteristics in either cinema or real-life anymore.

The fact that a 61 year old action hero can outshine and ourperform today's modern "heroes" like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt on the screen is also a parrallel commentary on where our society is today.

We don't have many John Waynes, Charles Bronsons, Clint Eastwoods, or Stallones in our society today.

Instead we have limp "dish-rags" and decadent morals and wimpbaits who like to cry, whine, gripe and complain about things but never want to step up and actually fix or solve any problems.

Where have all the leaders gone ?
We certainly don't have any running for President in 2008 for example.

Rambo is a classic and very much a mans film. Bought the movie because the husband and kids wanted it in there film collection.

This is a great movie sylvester did it again,

alot of action, gore, and violence.

I would recomend watching this.
