Raising Arizona (DVD, 1999)

If you enjoyed the new TV show "My Name is Earl" (NBC Fall 2005), then you must experience the stylistic (but not plot-based) inspiration: Raising Arizona.

Directed and written with originality, cast with future Oscar winners, this comedy defies easy explanation -- but delivers the laughs. The plot allows you to explore the deeper meanings of parenthood, recidivism, and infertility -- but it is the slapstick humor and writing that are the real payoffs. And, repeated viewings only reveals the dialogue to be more clever (and quotable).

old school movie i had to expose to my kids the laughter of Nicholas Cage's early roles. The movie was fine. I suggest buying caddy shack, fast time at ridgemont high and this movie to go old school eighties classics

Dvd was new in box as offered. Product was fairly priced. no surprises. Raising Arizona is a very good movie, which is about all I can say about it. And the seller didn't have anything to do with that. I like to leave a review, but I should be able to say what I want.

this is a timeless classic. if you haven't seen it, your life isn't complete until you have. check it out.

This is a great movie. Nicolas Cage and John Goodman are awsome. It is corkey and funny. I think that anyone would like this movie.

Well, definitely one of the most off-beat movies I have ever seen. Quite hilarious! Dry humor! Great actors! I have this one as an all time fave as well. It is for those who appreciate dry humor and the quick witted. Nicholas Cage is awesome in this movie. Love his hair. NOT! But, it goes well with the goofy character. Rent or buy for sure. It is a dont miss.

I LOVE Nicolas Cage in this, b/c he's so comedic and not worried about his "Hollywood performance" anymore! John Goodman is always funny, especially in Coen Brothers' movies (like The Big Lebowski - another GREAT one).

Nicolas Cage gives easily his best performance in this movie. One of my top ten favorites of all time.

Bought as a christmas gift for sister. Very funny in parts, lots of over the top pathos and funny lines. Nicolas Cage has the range of facial expressions to really communicate humor in dark situations. My sister loved it, but for me it has not help up as well in the long term.
