Maybe this was my fault, but I didn't know that this was the abbreviated board book version. I was looking for the full hardcover edition, and I don't think it was very honestly represented. I was looking for it to use for older kids, and ended up giving it away to my baby cousin. The book itself is great and teaches kids a great lesson in altruism.

) This is a wonderful children's book. I have a copy myself, and have given it for gifts. I would recommend it for all ages. Teaches values in a wonderful way. It's usually available in hard pages for toddlers and in regular hard copies for older children--beautiful illustrations.

This was a childhood favorite of my daughter, and now I bought it for her baby. It had a wonderful moral about sharing to the story. The sparkly fish catches the attention as well, and gets dispersed throughout the book. I know my daughter has it in paper cover, but this board book was a real plus!!!!!

The Rainbow FishI bought this book because I had a nursery/crib set of the rainbow fish to sell on ebay. My daughter told me there was a book about it so I decided to add it to the set. I had a hard time giving it up after I got it. What wonderful lessons are taught in such a childlike way that even the youngest of listeners will begin to get the message therein. I loved this book and will probably purchase another copy for my new grandson for his first birthday.

) I remember reading this book as a child, and I absolutely loved it. Not only are the colors appealing (especially the foil used!) and draw the child's attention in, but it teaches a wonderful life lesson about generosity and friendship. I just had to buy this book for my 4 month old niece.

A visually unusually pretty bookThe Rainbow Fish is an extremely pretty book. It is an excellent story with a message that sharing will made you happy for doing a good deed and win you friends. It also carries the message that it you are selfish, you won't have any friends.
Although this book was recommenended for a 6 year old, it seems to be more for someone to read to a younger child. However, a 6 year old would gain confidence reading this by themselves. It's an excellent book for a child to grow up with, having it read to them, then being able to read it themselves.
