Rails & Ties (DVD, 2008)

Marcia Gay Harden gives a stunning performance in this movie where she plays the wife of a train engineer who is dieing of cancer. That along with another great performance by actor Kevin Bacon makes the movie very enjoyable.

There is a lot of tragedy and lot of tears and the wonderful acting keeps you involved throughout the movie.

Alison Eastwood did a great job in her directorial debut. She brought out the best in the actors, especially Marcia Gay Harden.

Watch this film, it's well worth the time and the money.

This movie is sad and somewhat convincing. However, I believe if another male actor had the lead part (not Kevin Bacon) it would get a better rating. He does not show the emotion needed to play such an emotional role. The storyline keeps your attention, for sure. Sad events and a child involved makes you sad. Not a movie I would buy.

If you are in the mood for a really emotional movie, worth at least three hankys, this is it. Needless to say the performers are excellent and the end wiill lead you to draw your own conclusions. This is one I will watch several times just to catch the nuances I missed.

This movie was so much better than I anticipated, Kevin Bacon came off cold in the beginning but warmed up towards the end. This isn't an 'oh my God' movie, by any means but definitely worth watching. You know the movies that start off slow and get really good at the end? This is the opposite the wow moment happens at the beginning and then the movie stabilizes. Worth watching.

Watched the move and it a good movie not a wonderful movie but it will make you cry in it in some areas.

The movie has a good story, but has a slow meandering passing of events, followed by a non-ending.
The only reason got this DVD is because I think that Kevin Bacon is a great Actor. He was the only good thing about this movie.

HAVE NOT VIEWED YET BECAUSE IT IS A CHRISTMAS GIFT. I LIKED THE TIMING OF THE ITEM AND PRICE. I REALLY THINK THIS MOVIE WILL PUT A SMILE ON THE PERSON'S FACE WHO WILL GET THIS.

Movie was very good. I am a Railroad Engineer and I have killed several people including a 4 year old boy. Ps I recently purchased a Blu-ray movie from Thailand. It will not play on my Sony Blu-ray player. It is an ASIAN RELEASE. I was not aware until I tried it that it would not play. Always ck which release DVD is before you bid!!!

I am a big Kevin Bacon fan and he has never made a bad movie.....I enjoy him in this movie paticuliarly...
