Radio Retaliation [Digipak] by Thievery Corporation (CD, Sep-2008, ESL)

This CD from Theivery Corporation is a departure from their last two efforts, the Mirror Conspiracy and Richest Man in Babylon, which are a bit more ambient and and loungy, although infused with many genres of world music. Radio Retaliation has a much more edgy and upbeat feel to it. The title track itself, the reggae styled Radio Retaliation, is one that in a perfect world, would have heavy radio play. Later in the CD it kicks down a few notches. Anyway, the album is so varied but completely listenable and enjoyable that it does not disappoint.
