
This is a good DVD for beginners

I am very impressed with this DVD.I bought it because I am inspired by Rachel Brice's dancing and performances and wanted to see how she practices. I am a beginner and was VERY interested in the drills offerred here.
There is a performance part of the DVD, but it was a theatrical demonstration and was just an added bonus for me personally.
The DVD is broken down into 3 parts: 15 Minutes, 30 minutes and 45 minutes, so you choose based on how much time is available to you.
She focuses heavily on yoga and the more I did the moves she demonstrated, the light clicked on in my head and I was able to realize how yoga and bellydance really go hand in hand. The yoga moves really help reinforce the core muscles and are meant to improve balance, which is are key in building good dance posture and will most definatly help your dancing.
The drills are repetitive, but do a good job of creating muscle memory..and a big part of bellydance comes from repetition. The drills are challenging and make you focus on what you are doing.
She demostrates a really good breakdown of upper and reverse undulations.As an instructor she was very clear and easy to follow. I think that dancers of all levels would benefit from this instructional DVD. This isn't a choreography DVD and is meant to enhance your regular dance practice. I don't know if you will be able to dance the way Rachel does once it's all said and done, but this is a good start. Her Arms and Postures is also a good one and she does some layering and choreography.
I strongly recommend giving Yoga Isolations and Drills a try.
