RPG Maker (PlayStation, 2000)

The best game if, you like to create things. The first of the RPG series. Looks alot like the Aveyond games graphics. Not the best but, totally adorable. It's a nice a blast from the past. And, in my opinion the best games are the old ones.

I would like to start of by saying this is not a game but a game maker. There is a brief game given to you to fool around with in order to learn some of the basics of designing, but you learn more from reading the two included manuals. This creator is very insightful and lets you feel like an actual game developer without going through the tedious hours of learning code and design. Some of this games strong points is that its easy to get into and you can make your first game in just a couple of hours. However you are limited on the sprites and tiles you can use while designing, so that means if you want to make a sci-fi game and not a fantasy you may be out of luck here. Another problem is the fact that there is really no way of publishing your game or getting out onto the web which is a real downer for you after you spent all that time working on an epic RPG and can't share it with the world. However, if you can over look these little misdemenours you may find something that you truly enjoy. I give it a 4/5.

This game is genius! It's allows the player/user to create a new and fascinating world that they can customize in any direction they feel... But this is like God just leaving the lumber and telling Noah He needs a boat but didn't give him instructions. The game is incredibly fun and has tons of hours of possibilities... Majority of those hours using the "Guess and Check" method. Their isn't any direction in this game and it pretty much leaves you sitting there scratching your head. Once you finally do shell out an RPG of miraculous wonder(sarcasm) you will never want to touch the thing again, let alone play the game YOU just created...

RPG Maker for the Playstation System is one of the best games for any RPG fan to own. With RPG Maker you can create your own RPG Game. If there was a storyline you always wanted to play but couldn’t, you can now play it. However, making your own role-playing game will not be a simple task. As everyone knows role-playing games usually take many people to create, anywhere from 50 to even 300 or more. Therefore, If you do not have anything to do and you have nothing going on in your life and you will to spend many many many hour then this is the game for you. In RPG Maker you will have many tools to choose from. You will be able to write, design, and map every little detail that you create from the storyline to the dungeon designs. Keep in mind that you create everything so if you want to have the people say bad words you could(something that the RPG companies never usually put in there games). You will even be able to design your towns, choose where items will be located, create weapons and armor and design how powerful they will be, not to mention creating the enemies characteristics. In addition, you will be able design all of the characters! As you come along you will get to work on every cutscene, introduction, and any game ending that you would want. The possibilities are almost endless and you would enjoy playing or have someone else play this after putting all that hard work into it.

Very nice product. My son has wanted this for alot of years. It will be a special Christmas for him. Thanks!
