RCA RT2770 Theater System

This system looks great, sounds good, it is easy to work, it works wonderful and the price is excellent not to mention the free shipping. I have now owned a kenwood, sony, koss,and another rca model and i have heard pioneer systems before.This one is on the top shelf. I would buy another one if i had some place to use it. lonneg

At first I was turned off by the size of the receiver, verses its weight. Its really big for such a light piece of equipment! The whole receiver weighs a few pounds tops! Anyways, the display is large and clear. The blue is soothing in the dark. A dimmer function also is available. The volume difference is noticeable when switching from various source inputs. The source signal strength definitely changes the gain. However, the system has VERY low internal signal interference, and provides no audible static from the hardware itself. A quiet signal can easily be played at full gain on the system without an audible hiss. The MP3 function is actually really useful in certain situations. I have mine connected to a cable box with a COAX digital cable, and my XBOX to the optical. Dolby DIGITAL DSP!!! Totally great deal!

The screen over the speakers where dented and the speakers cut in and out during dvd play. During cds or other music it works fine.

I purchased the RCA RT2770 from the seller and have enjoyed it from the first second I took it out of the box. it does everything that the seller says it would and more.

It was what I needed and it was for a great price. Everything that was supposed to be there, was there. Everything came on time.

Its a nice small system. Not exactly what you would use for a home theater system to integrate to all your toys, but made for a good simple system for a vaction home. Loud enough for a medium size room, but not something you would use to crank out tunes for an outside party. I like the USB feature. With a 8gb card I can play tunes for hours. The random play mode for the USB is not that random. It plays every 4 songs on your drive and rotates throught the list. What sucks about that is when you plug it back in, you start all over again, listening to the same random songs you already heard. The FM receiver does not pull in those long distance stations all that good and I had to attach a better antenna. The subwoofer has only three settings and you have to have it connected to the control plug in the back of the unit. The plug and socket are very small and the socket is not exactly secured. After only two times plugging and unplugging it now is slightly pushed up and in where you can't get the plug back in. I had to trim the corded end to get past the metal frame and into the socket. You will need the subwoofer for any type of bass sound and you will be setting it to maximum.

The system is not a Bose, so don't expect the speakers to be either.

If you are looking for a good home theater system for your HDTV, Blueray, and surround sound, then this is NOT it. But I knew that when I purchased it. I just needed a cheap stereo system that played MP3 files and could support playing audio off a video DVD if I wanted. It almost met my expectation. I was hoping for a bit more volume out of it, but then again, I have not hooked up any other speakers to it to see if it could drive them without distortion.

i don't think it's 1000 watts.I have a phillips system that is 750 watts and it sounds louder than this one.Still for the money,its not a bad choice,if your new to home theatres then this may be the system for you,otherwise,find a higher end brand.

Surround sound sounds great playing music is awesome has i pod hookup and usb port perfect level of bass just enough and not to much very good surround sound at a great price i paid 119.95 on ebay walmart has for 149.99

system volume not very loud, the sub is a cheap one no bass or treble controls so no real deep bass sounds.
