RCA DCM425 Cable Modem

I needed a modem that was more up to date than the other one I had bought. This one was priced very well so I took a shot at it. IT has been a GREAT modem with excellent speed and compatibility. Love that it has an internet on and off button on the front and it is so small. Great size for the power of it! I highly recommend it if you need a new modem but don't want to have to pay a lot for it.

RCA Modem was used but much better than a refurbished modems that Comcast uses, after 6 years of paying Comcast $3.00 per month it was time to save some money. During these hard time every dollar counts and now Comcast has less of a monopoly on me. You will need to call tech. support to install the modem, with the S/N on the bottom of modem or your computer will show " Problem Finding Server ".

Instead of leasing a cable modem, why don't you just buy one for your residential Comcast cable? You could send $20 shipped and make your money back within 6 months. After that, you are starting to make money because you don't have to pay the cable company for leasing the modem. The modem is very straight forward. It has a connector for power and another connector for coaxial cable in the back. Some models have internet on/off in the front but not all do. Once you have connected the modem properly, you just call your cable company and have them "provision" the cable modem for your account. Provisioning just means that the cable company registers the MAC address of the cable modem (sort of like a serial number for network devices). Once you're done you are good to go.

I've used the cable modem for every day for internet and its been very reliable.

I rented the same model of Modem from Comcast. I found it from ebay at good price and then I decided to buy it for myself.

Wanted to replace the cable modem I had rented for two years from Comcast @ $3.00 a month. That's why I purchased it. It works just fine. Just have to call Comcast to get it set up. Glad I got it. But should have bought it sooner.

I recently installed the RCA DCM425 Cable Modem and I have to say, I haven't had any problems with it. It works GREAT and its small so it doesn't take up alot of space; and its not an expensive item.

PROs:It has small footprint, very reliable and inexpensive. I like the easy-to-read front LED's, the on-off switch to cut-off internet access when required. I oruginally rented it from the ISP and I decided to buy it instead of paying for ever. I 6 months I'll be ahead on my money.

This is just what I needed to link 2 computers to one internet connection. Installed with ease and the seller even offered phone assistance for installation if I needed it. Much cheaper than buying one in the store and seller offered free shipping. Highly recommended.

I was looking to purchase a Very inexpencive Modem for my internet. I Love this one because it was only less than $10.00, I mean the whole amount of shipping and the cost of the modem was less than $10.00 and it works fantastic. It actually works better than the one I was renting from the Cable Company. The one from the Cable Company was always losing its connection. This one is fast and NEVER loses its connection , I Love it. Also,the Lady I purchased it from gave me a curdosy call to be sure I was happy. This was a great first time experience using "Ebay".

I've been paying $3 each month to the cable company for a cable modem identical to the one I've purchased on Ebay. It was easy to install but it did take some time on the phone with the Comcast tech to get their system to recognize my new modem.
