Synopsis John Mortimer takes a break from his famously beloved Rumpole series with this satiric, farcical comment on crime and criminal reform. Lucinda "Lucy" Purefoy, an Anglican bishop's daughter, is simply bursting with desire to do good, so after she's finished with university, she signs on to an organization that helps recent ex-convicts return to society. However, a newly released veteran burglar named Terry Keegan matches Lucy's determination to help him with an equally strong determination to get shut of her as quickly as possible.
