This Movie Is One Of The Best Westerns Ever Made. The Shoot-Out Scenes Are Very Graphic, Adults Should Take Heed. Not For Children, But The Movie Contains Good-Hearted Moments As Well. Hackman, Stone, Crowe, Dicaprio And Hingle Shine In This Highly Rated And Recommended Saga.

I’m a big fan of newer westerns and this is on the top of the list for me. Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gary Sinise all did great jobs. My only critique might be that I don’t know how convincing Sharon Stone was as a woman gunslinger. However, the story line was good and it was entertaining.

The idea that Sam Raimi - director/producer of the Spiderman trilogy - made a western movie just thrills me. When coupled with popcorn and a herd of your close friends, this classic tale of revenge and abundant violence should make for a great Friday night. If you've found yourself gravitating to those nail-biting, mind-blowing, noun-verbing plotlines in other movies, I would refer you to a classic Clint Eastwood flick. But! If you're a sucker for cameos and awesome fight scenes, you shouldn't pass up The Quick and the Dead.

I'm not a big Sharon Stone fan, but she is just cute as a button in this movie, and Gene Hackman does an excellent job as the bad guy. The casting for this movie couldn't have been better. Truly one of those where you root for the good guys.

The movie was very slow, but worth watching till the end.

The movie is about a woman who is out for revenge.(what woman isn't?) Sharon stone plays an amazing gun fighter who seeks out her fathers killer. I liked this movie for several reasons. 1: Still to this day a good gun fighting movie. 2: Gene Hackman plays a bad ass really good. 3: Sharon stone is hot! I won't go into too much detail just say if you haven't seen it........Get it!!!

I've always liked this movie, never bought the DVD until now. What more can be said? I have to fill out 100 characters to say what else!?!?

I my family enjoyed this movie years ago. It gave way to many emotions. I purchased it to have a good quality date movie. I think guys would like it as much as me.

I grew up on Westerns, and this one gets extra points for all the great gun fights, not to mention a stellar cast; Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman, Leo DiCaprio, Gary Sinese and Sharon Stone as the coolest lady gunfighter ever!

It's directed by Sam Raimi (SPIDER-MAN) I love this movie, and never get tired seeing it!

It's a great movie for kids, and I can't wait to share it with my GODSON!

This is one of the best western movies I've ever seen. It has a great plot mixed with lots of action and a strong female roll as a nice twist. Lots of star power in the cast.

Not good for kid under age 21. Too bloody for me but my husband loves it. The actors were great. A tipical Western. Crow did a great job as a gunfighter turned preacher.

The Quick and the Dead was good movie,I recommened it.I decided to buy it because I'm a western fan and I liked Russell crowe.

NEVER A DULL MOMENT. ALSO A GREAT WESTERN. IT IS HARD TO FIND GOOD WESTERNS ANYMORE BUT THIS IS AVERY GOOD MOVIE AND THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.

If your into watching westerns, then this is a must. This Movie has Great Actors, Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio. And this is just a few to mention.

Wonderful movie and story lines. I enjoy watching Sharon Stone and Russell Crowe in this western movie, with Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the cast. A movie that once you start to watch you'll be enthralled in their story until the last possible second.

I had enjoyed this movie four times but had never seen the first half hour. I tried in vain to find the movie locally to no avail. After going to E-Bay, it was only minutes before I was able to purchase this movie and within 4 days, I was watching the crutial part that I had been missing. Maybe next time I will just go to EBay instead of local stores and searching. Thanks

The Quick and the Dead is western that takes place in a small town run by a
tyrant that has a contest of shoot outs, fine acting is done by Sharon Stone,
Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio.

This movie is one of my favorites, out of all the caracters everyone can imagine themselves as someone in the movie, Gene Hackman (John Heard) is so mean he convinced me thats who he really was (great Part) I also enjoyed the old west, and all that goes with it, the set fit the period.

Sharon Stone plays a great part in this one! Actually so does Russel Crow, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio... need I say more? Ok, so I have to say more. This is the story of a young woman (Stone) who grew up in the Wild West and was traumatized when, as a little girl, her father was killed. Stone spends her adult years (those that we know about) as a gun-slinging rebel, searching out the man (Hackman) she holds responsible for her father's death. Stone finds Hackman in a powerful position, running a gunfighter contest and takes the opportunity to exact her revenge.

An interesting storyline unfolds, interwining the lives of the four main characters in a complex way. Many surprises arise throughout this movie, and it is packed full of typical old-west action. Stone, of course, sleeps with one of her competitors; however, props to the director for being tasteful and not showing typical Stone sex scenes.

This movie is a favorite of mine. Q&D offers a refreshing perspective on the classic gunslinger movies with an original script and top-notch acting, but still gives enough action to placate the die-hard gunslinger fans.

GUYS: this is the ONLY gunslinger movie you are OK to make your girlfriends watch, you will BOTH enjoy this one!

Hackman plays the villain John Herod who bullies the town folk, takes their livelihood, so of course he owns the town.

Herod takes the town folks money, What does the town get? "IT GETS TO LIVE"
Russell Crowe "Cort" plays a Man Of God who rode with Herod in his young years.

Sharon Stone plays "The Lady" who rides into town seeking revenge for the death of her father,
Herod hands Stone a gun ( she was a child ) tells her "shoot the rope, and your Daddy can live"! "Remember Daddy will always love you" Sinise tells her his last words.




Herod starts up a gun fight, winner takes all "cash was the prize".
Last man standing advances to the next round.
Then it was fight to the death! Advance to the next round if you live......

Herod draws "The Kid" his own son he never loved nor claimed.

Stone is determined to kill Herod,as the Kid died in her arms.


"You would fight your own son she snarls with hatred in her eyes"

Herod response ....he never proved he was mine, he was just a farmer that claimed he was.....

Great Actors in this but....Stone steals the show, she is tough and beautiful at the same time, whoever remarked Sharon Stone can't act, is dead wrong!!


This is a superb modern version of a western. The acting is very good and believable.

Cast includes Gene Hackman, Russel Crow, Sharon Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gary Sinise.

Dislikes?? None from myself, AWESOME MOVIE! Wish all movies were like this one! A Good Movie is few and far between these days. Buy it or rent it if you can find it somewhere!! As for myself still have the VHS Copy, Says it all...
