I have loved this movie since I was a little kid and was happy to find it available and for a decent price. Well, it was a little higher than I wanted, but since the movie is out of print, I was happy regardless. Unfortunately, the DVD had transfer problems (little neon green blips and flashes here and there) and made watching the movie bothersome. I figure that if I am spending higher-than-average for this DVD, I want it to be perfect. I contacted Brian Campbell and he had me keep tabs on where the glitches came on. They matched what he saw on his only other copy, so he had me send back mine for a full refund. I was hoping it was just my one copy and that he could replace it with a clean copy, but that wasn't going to happen. Either way, Mr. Campbell went above and beyond the call of duty, answering my questions and emails in a very fast manner and resolving the issue immediately. If he had more movies I wanted, I would still shop from him. I put average in the rating, for although the DVD turned out to be a bit of a bust for me, Mr. Campbell was the upper echelon of customer service. I highly suggest his service.

Wonderful Movie
) This is such a difficult movie to find, and I remember seeing it at the drive-in as a kid. Was ridiculously priced on Amazon, but got a great deal on ebay! DVD is clear, not a knock off.

Quatermass and the Pit - DVD 1998The film itself is terrific with a great story and superb acting and directing. Probably one of Hammer's best films. The special effects, particularly the hive purge are dated but still propel the story nicely. The ship prop is gorgeous and the science is right on for the most part.
The DVD transfer is OK with a 1 or 2 frame green screen flashing up every 15-20 minutes and with slightly washed out color. The print is clean with nary a scratch to be seen. I'm not sure if the soundtrack was stereo but the overall quality is excellent; key to this film which depends very heavily on the sound effects to build mood in the second half of the film.
I would like to have seem goodies, maybe the trailer and some other things thrown in. It's pretty much just the film. That said this DVD delivers one of UK's finest Sci-Fi films in very enjoyable package.
