OK.... Gotta Admit.... I Am A Leaper !!!
Quantum Leaper That Is !!!
.... or at least a recovering one....
I started taping the very first show in March of 1989 on my VCR, and taped them all by the time the show ended in May 1993. All 97 episodes, yep all 97 eps that aired on NBC-TV, taped on VHS tapes. I knew the show was going to be something special, as I didn't normally tape shows back then.
I went to the first Creation sponsored Quantum Leap Con in Los Angeles, and went to each sucessive one that the QL Fans put on in LA & Burbank.
I bought all the QL fan magazines, and there were at least four that ran for a few years! Plus the fan fiction, some of that was really strange!!
Naturally I bought all the Quantum Leap Comics as they came out, and picked up extras for the stars to sign at the cons, and the artists and writer of the comics. The comic book series ran for 13 issues, plus one special reprint, and an annual. The comic book started in September 1991 and ended August 1993.
Funny thing was, there had to be eight females to every two males that were attending the cons. Basically the females were there to see Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell... the bidding at the bidding at the auctions for items that Scott wore on the show or the Murphy Brown show were bid exceedingly high!
I attended the cons because it was the first TV Show Based convention that I had attended and I just kept going! I really enjoyed meeting the actors who were on epsiodes like Richard Herd.... but no, Teri Hatcher never showed up!
As for the DVD of the Fifth and Final Season... Seeing these shows on DVD without commercials is the only way to go now!
Buy all of these in the series and enjoy !!
