Quantaray is very GOOD if you take time to learn it!

The lense, a Quantary 500 F8 Mirror is a very good lense. It came with a BRAND NEW Canon EOS adapter. It's not a lense you can use for everything, BUT for medium telephoto (some might call this LONG but LONG to me is like a Celestron 2000mm or larger) BUT given the multiplying factor of 1.6 (making this an 800 MM effective with the Canon Rebel XT/350D), it's good enough if used in AV mode.
You gotta' know a little bit about the lense to use it. I hear folks getting frustrated with the sensitive focus BUT that's true even with the over-priced Camera-Brand lenses too. You got to learn your equipment.
A MonoPod is an absolute minimum. There is very little way, unless you use a brick wall OR the top of your car to steady this one. Again, the nature of the beast. But I've been able to get some hand-held shots that were acceptable as well, for what they were. A tripod is best and if you want to do some astrophotography, get a motor drive one.
For about half-price of a new, I was able to be this LIKE NEW Quantaray and I'm more than pleased with it's abilities. I hope it'll last as long as I need it. AND I see no reason, if taken reasonable care of, it shouldn't. Mine came with the 72mm Skylight filter. Another positive about this purchase (along with the aforementioned NEW EOS T-mount adapter). I'm happy with it all. I might try it with a Good 2 x converter soon however, just to see how that all works...(Effective 1600 mm)..
