Horribly addictive. The best of both worlds.

I'm serious when I say you should think about buying this. Being a fan of both puzzle games and the RPG genre, I figured that this might be a fun way to waste some time when I was bored. I was completely right. The problem was, it also wasted time during almost any time of the day. The battles are so quick and easy you think to yourself "ah, just one more won't hurt". Then you are 70 years old with grandchildren. It is a whole lot of fun, and building up your character is easy and challenging to do. The "story" is there, but who really cares. Getting a huge combo on an ice giant and watching his hp drain away is way more satisfying than saving whatever land this takes place in.

  The game is Excellent

The perfect RPG with Puzzle elements. At first glance, it looks just like Bejewelled, but once you start playing, you realize how deep the core gameplay goes. There is a map where you navigate your avatar, there is a "citadel" where you can craft items, you can capture mounts and level them up, there is a store, etc...

The Multiplayer mode is great. You can level up your character by playing against someone before launching into single-player quest mode. The game is well-tuned for this. I was level 20 before I even started questing.

Cons--the occasional art glitches and in timed mode, the pop up text (i.e., "Heroic Effort") covers up the moves (annoying because you are trying to see all the moves in a hurry).

Overall, a great, addictive game. I only wish it was easier to find in a retail setting. I have been raving about it so much to my friends but the release from the publisher was very limited. Get it on Ebay now before the price skyrockets.

I have always liked the games where you match "gems" and this is a great one with a twist. No violence at all, recommend for kids of all ages. It keeps you thinking.

This game is a blast, putting together the fun of puzzles with strategy. It's impossible to put down! Ever since I got it, I've hardly played any of my other games. It adds thought and strategy to endless opportunities to do "Bejeweled" type puzzles. Perfect combination!

1.As you all know this is one great game.

2.Same as PSP or PS2 version.

3.I just don't like the control. You have to use touch screen to move puzzle piece.
Sometime it cause mistake.I wish DS had option to move piece with controler.

  irregular RPG
Review created: 09/01/07

If you took bejeweled or zoo keeper and added a turn based RPG you would get Puzzle Quest. The story, overworld, and items all resemble the aspects of classic RPGs but in order to progress in the game you battle via puzzle board. Taking turns you and your opponent match 3 similar gems till one is the victor.

If you like puzzle games and your like RPGs at all you will dig this game. The combo lends itself to a lengthy time eating and addictive experience. You will find yourself devoting hours into this one. DS touch mechanics make it a preferred medium.

  Best Game Around!!

For anyone with some Dungeons and Dragons background the quest is interesting enough to give the game a point.. and for anyone without gaming background the puzzles are fun and addictive enough to make you want to play and play. This is by far the best game I have discovered yet for DS. Easy to understand, easy to play and adjustable to meet your skill level. The characters are customizable and the story line is very good.

  "PUZZLE QUEST" Review (Nintendo DS)
Review created: 07/06/09

I am a Gamer. As a Gamer, I enjoy a minor amount of different genres & styles of games. I enjoy RPGs (role-playing games) such as Final Fantasy, Dungeons & Dragons, and so on. I also enjoy a good Puzzle game every so often, such as TETRIS, Dr. Mario or Bejeweled. "Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords" is like the perfect combination @ marriage of BOTH.

I originally rented & then bought it for the PS2, not knowing it already had a fan base on the Nintendo DS & the PlayStation Portable (PSP).

I then went shopping & picked up my Nintendo DS. As soon as I had that in my hands, I went looking for "Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords". I had found it used in good condition & bought it along with my DS. I really enjoyed playing it on my DS constantly trying to frantically plug in my DS to the outlet to both charge my DS & continue playing my quest(s).

For my fellow Gamers out there who like & enjoy any Puzzle or RPG games out there, I would say that *THIS* is the perfect game for you. The controls are quite easy to learn & get used to with the stylus. But for the BEST experience with it, I'd recommend that you shop around, like maybe BEST BUY, and get yourself a flexible stylus. That way you can wrap it around your finger to point & drag the gems from side to side & up & down.

You must match RED, YELLOW, GREEN & BLUE GEMS in order to acquire mana for spells & skills. The gems correspond to the elements of FIRE, AIR, EARTH & WATER (RED/YELLOW.GREEN/BLUE). You also must collect Gold for items in the same manner when you match up the Coins in the puzzle field, Skulls do instant damage to your enemy, and Red Skulls add %5 extra points of instant damage & also explode & destroy any & all gems around it & add them to your Mana Pool.

Unfortunately, I let someone borrow my original used copy only to never see it again, which is why I bought it again from here on eBay.

I *WILL* give everyone a fair warning though: **IT IS VERY ADDICTIVE!!!**

Make sure that if you must play it a lot, that you're on a vacation from work or don't have anything very important to do because you may get side-tracked easily. You may even have "nightmares" of shifting gems, LOL.

In all seriousness though, I do believe that you will all enjoy the game if you get yourself a copy.

OR, in my case, since I like it so much, I have 4 copies: Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PC *AND* cell phone for when I'm at work, hahaha.

  Match and stratgery fun.
Review created: 06/25/09

I enjoy this game as it is not time constraining. Play for 10 Min or an Hr.
Combines thinking with fun. I have this for Wii, however the graffics on Wii is not that great. The DS version and Comp version graffics are much better. Good change of pace game.

I dislike the lack of ability to move forward in this game. The game has some concepts to occupy your attention, but when you complete the task and see that you've still failed the challenge, you become very frustrated as the game tell you you must repeat the challenge.

Most addicting Nintendo DS game I own
Review created: 01/08/09

This game is a lot of fun and quite addicting. I love all the spells that you can accumulate and use, however it's really your logic that will solve the puzzles. I recommend this for kids, adults, everyone!

  Just what I wanted
Review created: 11/06/08

I just purchaces Puzzle Quest:Challenge of the Warlords (Nintendo DS). I had played a trial version so I knew what to expect, but for those that don't it's and RPG game that takes your character (whichever of the 4 categories with 5 characters each) that you choose all over their home lands fighting in battles against the undead, rabid rats, skeletons, knights and more. The battles aren't head to head contact fights, but puzzle battles (like a Collapse type puzzle) that each Mana (the items you are collapsing) gives you the power to cast spells against your opponent and some do damage just by removing them (skulls). You also have Gold that you can match up to gain money in battles. After battling certain opponents you may also have the option of capturing them and either using them as a mount (rats, spiders, etc.) or just learning their own spells to use in future battles (skeleton: Chill Touch, Spider: Web). This is a great game and I would recommend it to anyone who was into RPG's and battles.

takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own
personal link after your orders placed.

Step 1: Click this link http:

Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and
best).

Step 3: Complete just 1 offer (like Blockbuster or Stamps.com) and refer
up to 13 people to do the same (use eBay! Do what I did, copy my ad).

This game can be very addictive. If you like Bejeweled type games, you'll probably like this! I purchased this copy for my Mom, since I liked it for me so much! One downside is that the two player mode is only available when both players have the game. It won't do the download thing.

This is a great puzzle/adventure game. Do quests, gain experience, purchase new items... and the puzzle combat is fun. I like the way the game is set up, and that you can play a little bit here and there through out the day.
