Puzzle de Harvest Moon (Nintendo DS, 2007)

I love the game because for starters I love puzzle games and also love the fact that I can link this game between my kids systems and play together

So, a puzzle game with Harvest Moon characters... Sounds kinda plain, sure, but it's not just a knockoff of some other over-used puzzle game like Tetris, great as Tetris is. It's actually a genuinely fun, different puzzle game featuring an overall Harvest Moon theme.

The general idea for the gameplay is to plant seeds, water them, fertilize them, and harvest them to earn points as fast as you can in a year spanning four seasons. Of course, there's three other players trying to do this at the same time, on the same field, and you can harvest each other's crops too. Lessee... what else can I go on about...

Well some basic stuff is the music's pretty nice though nothing special, there's no story at all (why would you need one?), and the graphics are good though not anything fancy. Of course, the main thing is the gameplay, which is pretty enjoyable, smooth, and can get pretty hectic when everyone's trying to steal each other's vegetables. There's multiplayer too, but I never got the chance to try it.

All in all, it's a good game with some familiar faces and a fresh idea. Or, at least, I haven't seen it done before. If you're still unsure, the developer's site features a flash-based demo that teaches you how to play and lets you play through a season. At 20$ retail, it's hard to say no.

Good, nice kid, game for any kid good on Christmas for a Christmas presant. I decicided to buy it when i bought a nintendo ds for my daughter.

I am not quite sure why the description says it is an action packed, farming game. It is fast paced but not action packed and it is very hard to understand. I was really under the impression it was different then it was and I don't think it is fun at all.

Puzzle de Harvest Moon has a really unique concept, but unfortunately there's just no substance behind it. Without addictive, refined gameplay in its short-lived play sessions or a worthwhile single-player experience, Puzzle de Harvest Moon comes across as a glorified minigame. Bad design choices transform this cheaply produced puzzle game into a mere exercise to see who can scribble the fastest. Just an exercise in scribbling faster than everybody else, with no real challenge and no rewards. It's just not fun: who wants to buy a game that offers no fun at all? As cute as it looks, and as original as the concept is, Puzzle de Harvest Moon is a design that never comes together as a fun puzzle game.

Booooooooooooooring. Stick to the other games. I played this game immediately after I received it and it was NOT fun at all. I tossed it aside. Definitely pass this one up.
