What can i say will smith got to give him another 5 stars on this movie.Now normally you see will smith in a action thriller movie but not this movie.I would say this is one of my favorites by will smith.Will Smith stars in the inspirational true story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman who's struggling to make ends meet. When his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) walks out, Chris is left to raise their 5-year-old son Christopher (Jaden Smith) on his own. Chris' determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one in twenty interns will make the cut. But without a salary, Chris and his son are evicted from their apartment and are forced to sleep on the street, in homeless shelters and even behind the locked doors of a metro station bathroom. With self- confidence and the love and trust of his son, Chris Gardner rises above his obstacles to become a Wall Street legend.

Great movie! Will Smith gives a great performace in this based on a true story pic. Filled with so many hard moments but not so sugar packed to leave you wanting to brush your teeth. This movie will remind you of the passion and sacrifice that can be made in the face of seemingly unbeatable odds. A true story of hope.

Will Smith has once again created an excellent movie and an incredible character.

Will Smith plays the character Chris Gardner in this "inspired by a true story" movie. Will Smith's young son also plays the supporting actor as Gardner's child.

The movie revolves around Chris Gardner's rags to riches story. Through a bad business choice Garnder and his family are basically broke in 1981 America/San Fran.

Chris decides to change his life by attempting to gain a new job as an investment banker. Throughout the movie Chris has to deal with no money, loss of his home, his wife/girlfriend leaving him, and even getting run into by a car!

This movie is truly inspirational. The true rags to riches movie. Smith's protrayal of Garnder is beautiful.

Will Smith is an awesome actor. I love this movie. It just goes to show the sacrifices that one must go through for your children.

The movie portrays a young father trying to make it in this world with his young son. He gives up everything to try and make a living and provide for his child.

This movie is down to earth and is can show the struggles, but shows the joys of being a parent.

LOVE IT!!

The Pursuit of Happyness is inspired by a true story. This is a very touching film. This movie is a PG-13 drama that is terrific.

The movie is about a man named Chris Garner who struggles to bring in income. Therefore he finds himself on some hard times. Fortunately for him, his son (Played by Will Smith's actual son, Jaden Smith), keeps a smile on his face. You will find this film as touching as I do!!

I really enjoyed this film. The story is heart-warming and the connection between the Smiths is amazing.

I can see why this film was nominated for awards... it is fantastic. If you're a fan of heart-warming, inspirational tales this one is for you.

Worth buying?: I don't feel it is for me, so I recommend renting it first.

Will Smith and his real-life son Jaden star in this film based on a true story about Chris Gardner. A struggling single parent determined to build a better life for himself and his child face trying times as Chris takes on an unpaid internship at a stock brokerage firm with hopes of getting rich someday.
This movie will remind you to keep going until you reach your goal and to never give up. The Pursuit Of HappYness is an amazing film, capturing what life really is like for those 97 million living in poverty.

Interesting movie and very real - I know because I lived in San Francisco for 20 years, and belonged to and did some work for the Glide Memorial UMC! Too bad though it didn't show the changes in his life after he got the stock broker job, and some better parts of San Francisco than the Tenderloin area so much as he got to benefit from his "ship coming in" finally.

This is a great movie it takes you through its ups and downs. It will make you cry, it will make you hopful, and in the end you will realise that any thing is possible! Thanks for this one!S.P.

Finally, a good dramatic roll for Will Smith. Will is such a talented actor and it is so nice to see him turn out something with a little quality for a change. Although his others such as "I Robot" and "Independence Day" are good films, they do not give a chance to show his true abilities. Based on a true story, the film shows what an African-American man can do in spite of the odds against him. He teamed up with his actual son who did a magnificent job in the movie. It is a truly heartfelt performance.

What a phenomenal movie of a true story of a gentleman who perseveres so many obstacles, including being homeless, to make something of himself and care for his son. Will Smith did a great job with this. I have never seen him in a serious role before and he just shines in the movie. I also love that this is his real son in the movie. You could see the love between them.

Couldn't stop watching this movie! Will definitely need a box of Kleenex to get through the movie.
Pros: Excellent cast of characters. You will love the heroine and despise the people who try to stand in his way of taking care himself and his son. You will root for this man from the beginning to the end and sit on the edge of your seat when things get tense in his life, hoping that he gets a break.
Cons: None - Except for whatever happened to the wife/mother???
Overall terrific movie. It may start out a little slow, but keep watching. It all ties in for the rest of the movie.

Very moving, excellnt movie, well done...makes you really think...i love that it is a father and son movie, i bought it because of that reason. I really dont think they could have made this movie any better than it already is. highly recommended.

A great film that demonstrates how good, hard-working people can become homeless almost overnight, Pursuit of Happyness is a showcase for Will Smith, who convincingly portrays a down-and-out dad trying to better his family's life. Smith, who usually is cast in effortlessly boyish roles (Men in Black, Independence Day), is wonderful in the film in the scenes that shamelessly tug at viewers' heartstrings. Based on the true-life story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman forced at times to shelter his young son (played by Smith's adorable look-alike offspring Jaden Smith) in a men's room, there is little suspense to the film in terms of Chris' outcome. (His story and eventual success a successful and wealthy Chicago businessman was well publicized on the newsmagazine show 20/20.) The beauty of this film is in the way the story is told. Though he is constantly rushing around to get to appointments and pick up his child, things do not happen quickly for Chris. When he accepts an internship with a prestigious stock brokerage firm, there's a catch: The position is unpaid, suitable more for trust-fund children than single parents with no other source of income. In many scenes, the viewer panics along with Chris, wondering how he's going to feed his child. While Smith and his son, Jaden, share many tender moments together, Thandie Newton has the thankless role of playing Chris' shrill wife, who deserts her family early in the film. This movie is heart touching, you will enjoy it with your family and friends.

It's a great movie and it was cheap. Unfortunately the clasp that hold the dvd in the case was broken on this case and that was of concern to me because of scratching during shipping, etc. However, this time it worked out ok.

Will Smith is great! The character in this movie shows how someone with a definite purpose can accomplish anything. It demonstrates how anyone with a burning desire to succeed can.

Love the role Will played with his son. Showing even if your back to the wall your family comes first and never give up. Almost close to home for me. Life is only what you make it. Never Never give UP!
