The Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren (2002, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

This book caused me to re-dedicate my life to Christ. With clear, short chapters, readers are led to consider a life beyond our self-centered tendencies and to consider God's reasons for having us here. I have read many, many "self-help" books through the years and most of them seem to encourage the selfishness that so many of us (including myself) had become so accustomed to maintaining. If you are ready, this book will challenge many of your previous assumptions and could lead you closer to Christ. Readers who will take the time to read the book daily as instructed and then carry out the work directed in the book will experience benefit. However, just reading the book and choosing not to change your thoughts, attitudes or behaviors will not be helpful. (I am amazed at people I talk to who read the whole book through in one week and complain that they did not benefit from it). Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone serious learning more about God's purpose for humankind.

The book on CD is a good format for this. If you don't have time to read, you can listen to one chapter a day as recommended while driving to/from work, exercising, walking the dog or even getting dressed in the morning. The book will help you see life in a new light or it can help you re-focus your life if you have lost focus. It is a nice educational piece and Rick Warren is a motivational speaker. I cannot say that I agree or buy into everything he says, but it was worth listening to. I found it much easier to list to the CD than find quiet time to read the book. There is time driving to and from work that is wasted and for a time I filled it with thought and inspiration. I think it was worth listening to and would recommend it.

Loved the cd form--got more from it..recommend even if you have read the hardback..for one it is more portable and it today's fast paced world that can sometimes be important!

The Purpose Driven Life Audiobooks is a wonderful book for working moms with small children who does not have the time to read a book. It is a spiritual very uplifted book to read or on this case hear.It is divided chapter by chapter so as to be able to internalize and ponder on it well. Each chapter have bible scriptures to take home about which leads to one cons to have audiobook instaed of reading it. I listen on this Cd when I am free which is basically when I would be driving to and from work for about 30 minutes because I would not be able to write it down or even remember it unless I'm at halt.

Get some soul food, and think about for a while what are meanings for the life in the busy modern time. Give a break to yourself to read this book.

It is a must read for every human being regardless of religion or denomination. This book will let you realize the meaning of your existence and shall stop you from wondering what on earth you are here for.

Love it it is great for on the road listening, inspiring and reminds us the reason for living,to have purpose. Great gift for the up comming holidays.

This book is absolutely great! It has a lot of great things to say about how important it is to be positive and think positive. This does not directly point to being thankful to God for everything you have and everything you accomplish but it is the only link to put it all together. I assume they did not link this more copies would be sold because we know how the world is about buying things that might point to God...
This book ties in well with "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale wrote in 1955.
Don't even think about it, buy it and listen to it often to help change your thoughts.

What makes this book so successful in sales is that people can really understand what Rick Warren is trying to say about the importance of God in your life. I have learned a tremendous amount of information by reading this book. But the book is not just about learning about God. It also emphasizes making your life for God through action. One will not be disappointed with this book!

For any one who knows anything about Rick Warren's book, "Purpose Driven Life" and those who don't, it is the most honest, forthright inspirational message of our time. If anyone is hurting, lonely, forgotten, cast-aside, or just plain seeking meaning or purpose in your life, this book/CD series has your name on it. This is a great book for anyone interested in self examination. Would be a good thing to read and study even though you had not considered the question. What In The World am I Here For?, is a question we all need to take a look at. I bought several copies because we were having a program called "Forty Days Of Purpose." They were for distribution to folks unable to get a copy elsewhere. One of the best things I've ever done.VRC

Another great book. Kept me glued to the radio. After first becoming a Christian a friend gave me the book and since I'm not big on reading, I bought this book on CD and just fell in love with it. You will too.
