A Book For Children Of Cancer Patients
"My mom's got alien blobs inside her. They're called cancer. She's going to the hospital to get the alien blobs zapped with medicine."
This is how the book begins. A young boy tells about his mom getting cancer treatments at the hospital. The mom eventually loses her hair so she takes her son to look for a wig. They have fun at the wig shop and mom comes home wearing a bright orange punk wig.
The story has a happy ending. The alien blobs are gone and mom no longer needs the wig. Mom presents the wig to her son to play with.
The author handles this sensitive subject very well. The book is cheerful and fun.
