Disturbing and odd, but Sandler is great

Interesting and odd, difficult to watch but impossible to turn away from. I wasn't sure if I was watching a comedy, drama, documentary, or some left-field cinematic experiment, and it left me feeling vaguely unsettled...maybe because I'm used to seeing Adam Sandler as a goofy, lovable misfit instead of a psychotic walking pathology with fits of uncontrolled rage. That said, he did a wonderful job portraying such a difficult character and never once tried to play it for laughs or wink behind his hand at his audience. I'm not sure this movie really needed to be made (there never seemed to be any real point or plot, just one disturbing occurrance after another) but as a means of proving once and for all that Sandler can be a serious actor and not just a fluffy star, it makes the grade.
