Decent film, think The Ring + White Noise x Cell

Pulse

Overall Pulse is a pretty good horror film. It's creepy, tense, and terrifying. Halfway through I began to realize just how much this movie is like the book Cell by Stephen King (Even though Cell was a lot cooler). Since I doubt we'll ever see Cell hit the big screens, this is what we have, and in my mind it's pretty decent.

Only two characters stand out Kristin Bell and Ian Somerhalder and they're not that great. The rest of the cast seems so uninvolved. There's not much dialogue in this film, which is alright because it is a B-Level Horror Film.

The Ghosts in the Machine are really creepy, and there are some scenes that freaked me out.

The hilight of this movie for me however wasn't the movie itself, but the short documentary in the bonus features. It explains the phenomenon behind Pulse and even shows you real life photographs. Whether you believe in EVP or White Noise, it certainly gives you something to think about.

Final Verdict:

3/5

Rent or Buy?: I love horror films, but I probably won't be buying this one right away. I'll wait until I can get it for under $10, you should do the same.

if you like horror and blood movies then this is one for you,,, not a bad movie but then again not one of my favorite also,,, if you liked hostel then you will like this. I wont get into any detail to ruin the movie but it is well worth watching and my rating of this movie from 1-10 would be a strong 7-8............ some parts were predicable and boring but it did make up for that in the special affects....... not a bad movie at all,, will watch again

Pulse was a pretty good horror flick. There are numerous holes in the plot so don't try to figure too much out on your own. After realizing what is happening, the intrique captures you, but the ending (like most horror movies) leaves you puzzled as to why? Again, it's not a bad movie, but there are more questions than answers, and you're left wondering why. I'm not leaving the "average" rating for that alone (again, like most horror movies you're asking why?) but for the numurous plot holes and dry, distant acting. It definitely leaves you looking for another movie to make sense of it. Overall, the plot is interesting. Similar to Stephen King's novel "Cell", some over-anxious teens stumble upon a mysterious pulse in the radio wave spectrum which tries to re-enter their computer signal. It does, and then proceeds to take over the world by consuming the life out of everyone it comes in contact with -which is every living thing within a radio wave. Those that are outside of any signal are immune to them. Hence goes the movie. The movies use of "red tape" is cool because we know that the color red is a part of the light frequency, and I guess, in this case, that has something to do with blocking the afterlife from sucking the life out of living humans. Thats about it. Enjoy!
