Movie Description PULSE, a techno-horror-thriller cowritten by Wes Craven (SCREAM, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) stars Kristen Bell (VERONICA MARS) as Mattie, a student whose ex-boyfriend, Josh (Jonathan Tucker), goes through a strange transformation, then hangs himself. His depression seems to have emanated from a computer program he was working on--which continues running even when it's not plugged in. As Mattie and her best friends delve deeper into what happened to Josh, they start seeing bizarre images that none of them can explain as more and more people around them are dying unexplainable deaths.
BLACK CHRISTMAS, a remake of the 1974 cult favorite, follows a handful of sorority girls who remain at the house after the school shuts down for Christmas break. An ominous snowstorm blows in, isolating them. At the same time, a killer--who in this version escapes from a mental institution to return to his former family home--breaks into the attic and begins making terrifying phone calls to the girls (led by Kate Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Lacey Chabert) before killing them off one by one. Done in the wet and red style of '80s slashers, this fun update of a horror classic will please fans of that era.
