This movie has it all - great cast, witty writing, gorgeous beaches, surfing, psycho killers, girls in bikinis, transsexuals, foreign exchange students, multiple personality disorder, sexually confused surfers and a luau. What more could you ask for?
This movie spoofs everyone! Florence lives with her mom and a foreign exchange student in Malibu. She is the girl who is always a friend and never a girlfriend, which is fine with her since she is more interested in learning how to surf. She befriends some surf dudes who nickname her Chicklet and make her their mascot. Thing is Chicklet is not right in the head and certain symbols and patterns turn her into Anne Bowman a much older dominatrix who may or may not be a serial killer causing terror at the drive-in and the beach.
This movie is not for everyone. If you are of a sensitive nature in regards to homosexuality, transexuals and other sexual matters (not that there is any nudity, which there isn't) then don't rent/buy this movie.
But, if you like a good story that makes fun of horror/beach movies from the Gidget era then this is THE campy movie for you!

) I bought this film just for the title, and was thrilled to see some of my favorte actors like Thomas Gibson, and Nicholas Brandon in it. I had to watch it twice because I laughed so hard the first time I missed enitre scenes.
It's a great combo of 60's beach movie, 50's horror films with a nice tacky twist ending. A great sit on the couch on a friday night film!
Would make a great gift for the man or twisted woman in your life.
