In the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a passel of patriotic-themed compilation albums was released to bolster national morale. PROUD TO BE AMERICAN is one of the most successful of those releases, and it contains a number of chestnuts most closely associated with patriotism and the experience of being an American. Under less dire circumstances, this is the kind of album that might be roundly ignored, but in tough times, these are the kind of songs that people cling to and rally around.

    The perfect cd for that 4th of July party. Great during fireworks, eating, and in between. This cd is not the most high tech, but you can't go wrong when a portion of the proceeds go to American relief efforts.
