When Henry Ford launched the Model T, early last century, he announced that the car was to be made available in any colour as long as it was black. Until recently (and that''s getting close to a hundred years since Henry''s day) all remote controls also sold only in black. So you can imagine my amazement and pleasure when I opened the box of Proton''s new IR800 remote control and found a beautifully designed, brushed metallic device. This is a fabulous unit to look at, so let me tell you more about the physical side of the device first and then I''ll fill you in on the technical issues
