The Proposal (DVD, 2009)

Sandra Bullock (Miss Congeniality and many more) stars with Ryan Reynolds (Definitely, Maybe + More).

Bullock is Margaret, the hard nosed editor at a book publishing house and Reynolds is Andrew, her executive assistant (actually her 24 hour get me what I want man).

When Margaret is threatened with deportation back to her home country of Canada she concocts a scheme to get married to Andrew so she can stay in the US and save her job. To get andrew to agree to this, she threatens him (actually blackmails is a better word) and finally he agrees to go along with it.

The plot unfolds from there as the young couple head off to Alaska to meet Andrews parents and celebrate his grandmothers 90th birthday.

And here we have the best part of the entire movie. Grandma is played by Betty White (who actually will be celebrating her 90th birthday in 2012). Ms White is one the television and motion picture Icons who lights up any screen she appears on and she does not hold anything back in this movie. It is worth the price of this DVD just to see her performance.

Also starring in this movie are: Malin Akerman, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson, Oscar Nuñez and Aasif Mandvi

The movie is VERY predictable but it was also VERY funny and Betty White was great. So get this one and have a good laugh.

Rated PG13 for some brief semi nudity and sexual humor.

I bought it because it was $4.95 and had free shipping!! We watched the movie after Christmas dinner with 4 generations from great grandma to teen grandchildren and everybody loved the movie. It was the perfect way to relax after opening presents and eating the Chrtistmas dinner. Family fun.

Was very funny and the actors and actesses worked well together making this a great movie! I enjoyed watching it from beginning to end and would recomend it to anyone who likes comedy. I enjoyed it so much I spend the next night watching it with my daughter.

Great comedy!!! The "shower" scene is the best! Ryon Reynolds did a great job. Glad to see Sandra Bullock back in movies. Recommend to anyone who loves comedies or Sandra Bullock.

The movie is just fun-couldn't believe the price is was selling for so nabbed an early bird special. Glad I own it and it will be one of those great feel good movies you can pull out anytime.

I paid for the movie and never got it. This is the 2nd time I got ripped off. Would have been nice to have gotten the movie.

The story is really cute. I would recommend the movie. The disc I bought had lots of hesitations & skips--as in maybe 4 dozen. Very irritating. I gave a good feedback based on time of shipping--hadn't had the time to watch the movie yet.

B-grade. Cute but stiff and not even close to believable. Miss Bullock never makes you believe here character is genuine for more than a minute.

Great buy for the money - prompt delivery - could be used for gift - would use seller again. Good movie to enjoy again at home.

The whole family loved this movie. It was bought new at a very low price for such a new movie. Sandra Bullock is one of our favorite actors.

This is a really great video and would be enjoyed by adults, it might require parental previewing for children as it has some adult language and slight nudity. These things fit the story line and are not offensive. All in all it is a great romantic comedy with excellent well known actors.

I loved the whole movie from start to finish, it had a good story, extremely funny with no boring lag times. Excellent - Very good chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. It is one of those movies you can watch several times over and still laugh out loud!! It is worth it to buy!

I loved the movie when I saw it in the theater, and look forward to watching it with my sisters today New Years day with my sisters who have not seen it while the men watch football.
