Album Notes The Go! Team: Ninja (vocals); Sam Dook (banjo); Kaori Tsuchida (glockenspiel); Jamie Bell (bass guitar); Chi Fukami Taylor, Ian Parton (drums). Additional personnel: The Double Dutch Divas, Fierce Allstars, Robin Pridy, The Rapper's Delight Club, Amina N., Niya F., Jolyn C., Felton A., Gary Kavanagh, DJ Manipulate, Ben Somers, Myriam Megharbi, Marina Vello, Bob Dowell, Joe Auckland, Elisabeth Esselink, Chuck D. PROOF OF YOUTH took nearly four years to complete after the Go! Team's brilliant, genre-splicing 2004 debut, THUNDER LIGHTNING STRIKE, and it sounds as if the British indie-dance collective was working away at it the entire time. The Go! Team's music on PROOF OF YOUTH, as on its predecessor, is an instantly intoxicating blend of Phil Spector-style pop, Stereolab-derived Krautrock, bossa nova influences, scrappy indie guitar rock, and R&B diva vocals out of the Kanye West production playbook. Highlights include the electro-pop pastiche "I Never Needed It Now So Much" and the irresistible dance frenzy of the first single "Grip Like A Vice." Hugely entertaining.
Editorial Reviews [O]nly a churlish, dead-eyed cynic would refuse to be moved by this inspired mix of riotous noise and feel-good vibetasticness. Magnet

3.5 stars out of 5 -- [T]he enthusiasm they bring to their infectious second album simply can't be faked....[With] exuberant, playground jump-rope chants. Spin
3.5 stars out of 5 -- [I]t's the rare band that can switch from sampled music to live with no loss in riffage as they do here... Rolling Stone
