Though Jon Anderson is best known for his tenure as the lead vocalist of pioneering progressive rock band Yes, his solo career has found him exploring many different genres, including New Age and Latin music. THE PROMISE RING is no exception: here Anderson embraces his Celtic roots with the help of a large group of folk musicians dubbed The Froggin' Peach Orchestra (a loose ensemble named after the California bar where the album was recorded). A joyous record filled with stomping bodhrans, careening fiddles, and ebulliently blown pennywhistles, the session is nothing short of an aural celebration, delivering all the passion and fun of a night out tipping pints in an Irish pub.
