Project Runway - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2005)

PR was a surprise hit for Bravo, and the production value of the show in the first season shows it. Other than some terrible annoying contestants (I'm talking to you Kevin & Kara Saun) the competition was a pleasure to watch. Filled two of the greatest reality TV personalities ever - Jay and Austin - there are lots of laugh-out-loud moments. The challenges are creative and fun and just as reality TV is formulatic in it's perserverence, the challenges create those formulas: drama, tears, eye-rolling, screams, break-downs, and all. I was disappointed there were only 11 episodes (again, showing the lack of money the network put into this longshot - no pun intended to the Wendy Pepper fans). Heidi Klum made tremendous strides from this season to season 2. Good for you Heidi and your weird diction!

Special features include some great deleted scenes and featurettes about where the top five are now. All in all, not a bad set for the price, but be prepared to be really annoyed some contestants and laugh really hard at Jay. 'Cause he's hysterical.

I bought this when I discovered that the show was available on DVD. I became a Project Runway fan when catching reruns on Wednesdays while waiting for Top Chef to air on Bravo. I checked ebay first because I didn't want to have to pay full price as I am on a budget. Season One was always the most impressive to me because of the chosen designers' raw talent, the nice mix of designer/model "drama" and the diversity of the challenges themselves. For people who don't know, Project Runway is not a reality show about the "next great supermodel." It's about fashion designers and what they must endure in order to make it to Fashion Week in New York. The winner receives 100k to kick-start their own clothing line, among other prizes. The DVD also features extras which include follow-ups on where the designers are now, casting calls for Season Two, and outtakes. It also includes the Season One Reunion Special, which rarely airs on television anymore. The only things I did not like were the fact that the guest judge for Fashion Week is not a fashion expert, just a "fashion fan" and that the Fashion Week episode featured only ten items from each designer's twelve-piece collection. All in all a good show to watch and DVD to purchase.

I decided to buy project runway online because I couldn't find one single copy in several of my local retail stores. The DVD online was a bit expensive without shipping, on Ebay the cost+shipping was dollars cheaper. I received the DVD promtply, it was brand new and packaged just like it would be in a retail store with a professional cover and video description. Convenient shopping, exactly what I ordered without having to search multiple shelves and waste gas.

I love Project Runway. Have all the other seasons, but season 1 is harder to find and is most expensive. Lots of drama and great fashion. Interesting to see how different challenges are interpreted into clothing.

Mom's works at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and has taught sewing and really likes the Project Runway series. I bought her the second season as well.

If you are a Project Runway fan then this is a must see video. We started watching the show in the middle of Season 2. This really shows you how everything evolved. From Heidi's famous kiss goodbye to how Nina and Michael got better with judging the designers. It is really gave me a lot of insight into the polished show I watch now.

I am very satisfied with my purchase of Season one of Project Runway. It is in perfect condition and appears to be brand new. It plays wonderfully, there are no problems with it. The price was also very reasonable. I am overall very happy with my purchase.

I had never heard of Project Runway and thought it was similar to America's Next Top Model. In a way it is. The show and the extra's were good just not what I was looking for. If I liked the show more would definetly buy the series good price fast shipping.

I loved this show on T.V. and this DVD was very difficult to find locally. I did purchase this item from the seller, who is excellent and has all the unusual DVD a person would want to buy. I also felt the price of the DVD was resonable.

This was a birthday present because I absolutly love this show. I love all the petty cat fights over nothing. Along with all the drama.

Being a fashion major, it is important to see what other emerging talented designers can do. Because I watched the show for fashion purposes, the drama half of it was a bit annoying, but i must admit, it did suck me in.

I loved Project Runway in general. One day I hope to be on the show. I decided to buy it because, I want the whole series. I already had season two, I am now waiting on season 3. I can not wait until season 4 comes out if they are having one.
