The Producers (DVD, 2006, Full Frame)

As much as I LOVED the MUSICAL PLAY ON STAGE, which was probably one of the BEST I've seen in Many Years - this Video does not serve the Musical Play very well. Everything is there, but it doesn't have that SPARK it did on Stage.
Mel Brooks did an outstanding job of re-creating his Original Movie for the STAGE and it was a MONSTROUS HIT. I'm sure he's not thrilled with the results of this NEW MOVIE. The Jokes, the Songs, the Characters all really there, but it does not come across like it did in the VERY FIRST MOVIE with Zero Mostel & Gene Wilder - much of course has been added but it didn't bring me to my feet shouting full of joy and laughter. In fact it is not as FUNNY as it was on the STAGE, or maybe being translated to Film somehow changed its form. Thank You. -rostuff

With all the hipe this movie got, I had to get it. I was very disappointed. Just remember, when you go by who is acting in it, that does not always tell you the quality of the rest of the actors, or the plot.

I loved everything about it, and the reason I bought it is because my Son took me to New York City and I saw the show on stage in person and loved it....

It's great for a laugh. What's funnier than Nazis singing and dancing and making fools of themselves? lol Well the real life Nazis didn't need help in doing that last bit haha If you can take a bit of dark or vulgar humour, you'll love this movie! Mel Brooks did an astounding job in remaking his classic movie :)

There were no problems with this item. The DVD was shipped quickly, it was in great condition. It worked properly. Overall no problems. Great Seller

Awesome. simple, a musical everybody can enjoy! Nathan Lane is simply amazing and is a must own. I just only wish i could have gotten this in blu-ray!!

I enjoyed the DVD. There were parts that didn't keep my interest, but overall it was ok.

I decided to buy it when my daughter auditioned to be in the play with the local community theatre group. She got the part and I wanted to see the musical before I went to their production.

Went to a live production so I wanted to see the movie. If you love Uma Thurman movies you'll love her as a sexy minx in this one.

Spring time, for Hitler, in Germaneeeee. Oh my gawd! I never laughed so hard in all my life. There may be some that take offense but when you look at the whole movie it really is funny. My husband can't stand musicals but this one he loves.

A hoot for those who can appreciate the humor of politial incorrectness and cheeky comments. Will Farrel is the real scene stealer here as the perfect Nazi! If you don't laugh out loud at the onstage performance of "Heil Me!", then this on-screen interpretation of the broadway hit is not for you.

This was a gift for my daughter. We watched it together. Totally enjoyable, laughed and shared a wonderful time! Great movie! It's a classic for all times

BUY IT?? I never even received it! Ordered on Dec. 5th for Christmas...I kept emailing the seller and got no satisfaction nor resolution to this DVD that I put in a claim for. I never heard back...what a big disappointment. I will never order from HALF.COM again.
