For a Pro Tools beginner, this is an excellent book that describes how the system works, and presents many terms and definitions that are present in nearly all recording systems.
Though I haven't made it through all of the book yet, it is giving me an excellent foundation of how Pro Tools works. Yeah, the book is a bit outdated in that it is from 2002. But sometimes it is good to see how a software program goes through product evolution too.
The screen shots are brilliantly displayed with quality color inserts and make reading the book much easier overall.
If you can find this book relatively inexpensive, I highly recommend purchasing it for the information that it contains.
