A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer (2008, Hardcover)

A Prisoner of Birth, the newest novel by Jeffrey Archer, is a fantastic book! In true Archer style, he lays out a compelling story that envelopes the reader from the very first pages. Framed for a crime he did not commit, Danny Cartwright is sentenced to 22 years in prison. Using his time wisely, he vows to reclaim his life and inflict revenge on those who put him in prison. The characters in this book are rich and well developed. Jeffrey Archer always has a way of surprising the reader and he does it several times – each brilliantly – in this book. I have read every novel by Archer and I feel this is one of his very best since his early days as a writer. A thick volume, this book is over 400 pages – but the time spent with every page is well worth it. While some books are lacking in the completeness of their stories, this one is a full, satisfying book. Archer is a world class author!

Because I'm telling you, once you start reading this book... you're not going to put it down!

And yeah... this is one of the dreary prison books. Like most of you, I really, don't like those kind of books or movies -- about an innocent person being framed and sent to prison...

I almost didn't read the book but I'm really glad I did!

To start with, our hero was framed for the stabbing death of his best friend by four obnoxious guys that were popular and respectable. Guys you would love to hate. And the jury believed their lies over the testimony of our hero's fiancee'!

And so bad things happen to good people. Our hero was shuttled off for twenty years of incarceration.

However, he gets put in a cell with a disgraced military officer and another guy. And the story takes off from there...

And what a story! Sort of like rags to riches. Unbelievable riches! And of course... total revenge!

And the ending court drama is absolutely fabulous... But I won't tell you any more... because THAT would spoil a good story for you...

So -- I recommend you get your hands on a copy of this book ASAP and block off your time -- to give this book the attention it deserves... because you won't regret it!

This is Jeffrey Archer at his best! The twists and turns along the way are great. He has obviously used his experience in prison to assist in writing this book and think he would have been his character Sir Nick. Great book, great read and highly recommended. I had two sleepness nights reading this book and had to force myself to put the book down and go to sleep!

Who would think that you could buy a like new hardcover book for one dollar? I was skeptical, but for a buck even if the book was worn a little it would still be a good buy. The book came and it was literally new, no wear on the spine no wear on the pages-nothing.

I purchased the book because I have always enjoyed Jeffrey Archer's books in the past. It did not disappoint me. I had a problem putting the book down! Archer's plots are not always unique, but his method of solving the problems usually are.
The only thing I didn't care for was the last chapter or so. They seemed redundant after the problem was resolved.

It wss exactly as discribed and there was quick delivery and packaged well. this is an honest seller.

It was a new book, and I was able to purchase it at a very reasonable price.

I read a lot of Jeffrey Archer and so I was suprised and the predictability and boringness of this book. I felt insulted, as a reader, with how blatently things were explained and at what I was expected to beleive. This is the first Archer book I have read that I would not recomend to freinds.
