Princess Mononoke (DVD, 2000)

Not only are the voices perfect for the characters, but the story-line and animation is fantastic as well. I've seen this movie countless times in the last five years and i still love it to death!!

This movie was excellent!! It entertains kids but it has some serious messages. It really makes you think about man versus environment. It also makes you think about what is right versus what is wrong and the gray spaces in between. Highly recommended!! Only drawback are the tree spirits-they are a little strange.

I truly loved this movie. This is one of the few movies that I have in my collection that mixes fiction, honesty, and heart. I enjoy the english version, but if you don't mind reading subtitles, I'd recommend the original Japanese version, as it adds to the movie. This is an intense movie that I've made all my friends watch and they've all loved it too.

One of the reasons I bought this dvd is that my kids absolutely love it. Its a classic version of good versus evil and to see something without a clouded mind is inspiring. We just love the artwork as well. You can almost feel some of the rain or clouds during a few of the scenes. I think Princess Mononoke is a great addition to any collection

Great Movie!

A story of a young man and woman meeting during the destructive conflict between industrial and natural worlds. The forests contain spirits and intelligent animals whose painful perspective is told to the only two humans who care to listen -- Ashitaka and San.

A beast maddened by a bullet wound from the nature-consuming Iron Mountain attacks Ashitaka's village. While defending his home, he is touched by the beast, marked with its infectious hatred and must leave in search for a cure before it consumes him as well.

On this journey away from home, Ashitaka encounters a world much like our own today; saturated with fear, greed, anger, and an ignorance to the wonderful beauty of our connection to nature. He meets a girl, San, who fights alongside ancient animals against the people of Iron Mountain who are destroying the forest. Ashitaka and San's approach to ending this conflict clash; a peaceful solution versus violent solution.

Can Ashitaka's attempts to convince Iron Mountain that they are killing themselves by attacking the forest end the war? Can he release San from her blinding hatred of humans? Will the spirit of the forest and life itself be consumed by this maliciousness from both sides? Look "with eyes unclouded by hate" and you will see the truth.

i like anime and my anime colection was small. i wanted to billed it up. so i bot more anime. thats all i have to say.

We love Japanese animation and especially this author. DVD's are too expensive to buy new all of the time, so eBay is great to get what you want.

this is a must see movie if you are a true anima fan or a first time watcher. not recamended for whole family.

This is a wonderful, THOUGHTFUL movie for the whole family (though there is a moderately bloody [though very brief] part. There are anti-war and pro-environmental messages. It is beautifully rendered and has great emotion appeal as well as action. This and Howl's Moving Castle (also by Miyazaki) are favorites.

Bought for Grandchildren .....It was an excellent choice. They thoroughly enjoyed it and it was great for them.

The animation and story line was just adorable and just wonderful for them.

This is one of the best Anime type films I have ever seen...It is appropriate and enjoyable by any age group. If you are new to Anime and are looking for a good starter movie then pick this one!

Princess Mononoke is one of the best movies ever. It has very realistic animation, humor, likable characters and a great story line. Must see!!!

In my view, this is one of Miyazaki's best films ever.The American version english dubb does justice to the movie.

This is my favorite animated movie I have ever seen. It is full of action and adventure. It was a little over gorey but it was great. If you don't alredy own this DVD you really should get it.

fIRST OFF This is a great anime to watch with the kids it's rating is pg, but it touches on a few social issues that we deal with in our everyday lives, from greed,to bigotry. It may be a little violent for young kids to watch alone but with a parent there to anwser questions it will be a great family experiance.
THE GOOD, Excelent animation,very good english voice trax, excelent story line with moral value.
THE BAD. Not much,some violence may not be apropriate for the very young, but it is important to the story line.
In closing if you don,t have this in your collection then your collection is incompleate.

this movie was great on VHS and even better on DVD, it makes the CG art come to life in crystal clear detail. easy to navigate DVD menu and great protective case. if you liek the story or just like anime with adventure then you will love this DVD!

Princess Mononoke is my favorite Miyazaki movie of all time, and is one of my standing favorite movies. This movie deserves 10 stars, the artwork of this tale is impressive, and the story is amazing, and captivating. It's a must see

I simply bought it because i it's a great anime made by Hayao Miyazaki nad i'm going to get the collection of his work.

Another fine animating by Hayao Miyazaki. I don't know how he can continue to come up with these very entertaining animations and still make the movie interesting for both children and adults. A treat to watch over several times.

Nuanced. Characters are not "good" or "bad," but portrayed as simply having their own part of the story. A little weird, but would you expect less from anime.

I've always wanted the movie for a while and I was looking for the movie desperately until I spotted this item on ebay. I was really satisfies because it arrived fast and it was in good condition.

Even almost 8 years after watching this movie as a child I still believe that this is the best anime movie mad3e so far. I has great symbolism and characters. The plot is excellent as well and really grips the viewer.
