Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (PlayStation 2, 2003)

I have to say when I played the first 30min of th game I wasn't overall too impressed. As a matter of fact at that point I would have rated it a 7.5 out of 10.

After that I didn't touch the game for about 2 months, and then last week I popped it back in. After the "tutorial" area, the game starts shining. As you learn more moves, and you see new setups that can use the new arsenal of moves on, things get interesting. You can run on walls, run up walls, run up walls do a jump off of the wall, etc....

The graphics on the game are good, but not great. The character graphics are just ok, but the environment is nice, and at points plain beautiful. The FMVs are also good quality. I like the fact also that you can play it on 480p. The game looks much better on my LCD TV on 480p. As for enemies there really aren't that many different type of enemies. As a matter of fact there are just a couple of different enemies which lead to a rather bland combat system. But then again for me this game wasn't about fighting enemies, but exploration and having fun getting from point A to point B using your moves. At points I thought they should have just removed the combat if they hadn't planned on actually giving it depth, and substance. I mean fighting 6-8 different types of enemies excluding bosses through an entire game, with a limited number of things you can do is just very boring.

As for the sound the voice acting is very good. The background music is good. And the sounds are Ok.

As for value I think this game is a game you may end up playing more than once. It's definitely very fun. And add to that the Easter Egg of having Prince of Persia the original game in there, and you have a great game with decent replayability, and an extra game which sum up for a good value overall.

Anyway I recommend this game. It's very good, and with a few tweaks it could have been perfect. At this point in time I liked the game enough to prompt me to go buy the two sequels :)

My 13 year old loved the it, especially the stop/rewind time aspects of the game. It has some replay value, but mostly makes parents feel comfortable leaving the kids alone as they play it. Minimal blood & gore and very little adult situation stuff or language.

I decided to buy this game because i had just finished God of War and was looking for other games of the sort. This is a great game if you like the action/adventure genre (games like God of War, Devil May Cry, etc.), i HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS SERIES!

This game is great! Some parts were very difficult but after a few tries you really get into the swing of things. Very different and strategic game. Really makes you think. Not the best game if all you like to do is kill things. Don't get me wrong, you fight alot but you have to test your witt first. A++

great game, will keep many people thinking on what will the next step be. also it has a very good story line that keeps on making the player wonder about how to solve puzzles to keep going along the way. this is a great game, and i can recommend getting it. and for those who get to love it, should play the other games.....2 thrones and warrior within...they are great games to keep in any home collection and to play whenever one needs some extra thinking

This is a great game, purchased for the THIRD time recently (the first two copies having been lost in unfortunate circumstances). If you're a longtime video game player, you no doubt have a place in your heart for platformers. This game redefined the genre with the idea of bending time to affect puzzle outcome. A new gaming generation is upon us, and this game is STILL very fun to play. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the new Prince of Persia series, or who enjoys platformers in general. You will definitely find hours of entertainment out of this game.

I like all the cool tricks he does running on walls, climbing poles, and the turning back of time. I decided to buy the game because of price and it turned out to be a good game!

Easily one of the best games for PS2. If ypu enjoyed God of War then you'll definatly want this one.

I have played a few hours so far, and I am having a lot of fun. Im not really big on video games of this type, and my wife is even less of an enthusiast. But this game, she has played more hours than me. Can't go wrong with this game.

This is a fantastic game with lots of action and intense gaming. It is great for anyone who loves to play so long as they arte mature for it can be somewhat graphic. Still a must have!!!

I've wanted to try Prince Of Persia for a while now.
The game was great! I had a lot of fun playing it.

Game to start playing games with... just that good

Sands of time was one of the first in the POP trilogy. After the disaster that was POP 3D, ubisoft pulled one of coming up with one amazing game called "Sands of Time". It brings in a whole new concept of sword play along with its story just one of the best games to come out (then).

This is a classic game since the first version for PC and the initial of the saga of prince and persia for playstation 2 and it introduces in an amazing story.

And it´s catching the different movements and graphics that involve the game
