The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli (1985, Paperback, Reissue)

i like it because of the story line....it tells me about trust and leadership that is why i bought it...

Machiavelli's beautiful little treatise was an act of patriotism to the despairing Italy, not to mention a sort of present for the Medici in Machiavelli's hopes for job opportunity. I find it is a most interesting and enjoyable, if not down right delightful read. I'm 100% positive America's Left and Right (or, more precisely the power that creates the illusion of a Left and Right) practice Machiavellian tactics day in and day out. This manual has a notoriously famous list of readers that you could probably guess. I hope the rebellion that is being born will not need to use Machiavelli's political tactics, but to overcome the current powers, it may well be a necessary evil. Enjoy, be sure that your leaders did and that they have quite handsomely prospered from Niccolo!

I like the book, it's an archetypal classic about political science in the Renaissance, a masterpiece. I bought it because I am interested in Renaissance artists and history.

THis is one of my favorite books of all time....It is sorta hard to read....Sometimes you have to re read the sentence a few times to get the meaning...It is very succinct writing...You can tell Machiavelli really took time to write it without wasting words....Most of the thoeries can be applied to modern politics...This book is timeless...It is basically a handbook on how to rule a country or as Machiavelli calls them,"Principalities "

We purchased this book for our son's 11th grade english class in high school. He is enjoying reading this very classic book. This book has been reprinted many times to date.
