Prime Suspect 4 (DVD, 2004, 2-Disc Set)

I have seen all of the Prime Suspect series now, and I just had to own them. They are screenwriting and character acting at it's best. Helen Mirren delivers again and again with this series, as well as her commanding screen performances at the Box Office. Superintendent Tennyson is relentless in her pursuit of the truth, at all other expenses, including her career and position within the police department. She displays a character that is frighteningly real; distasteful at times, yet sympathetic as well. One is struck with feelings of ambivalence during an episode only to find themselves rooting for Tennyson in the end. Highly recommended.
