Pride and Prejudice (2003, DVD)

This movie is just so great. You just have to love Donald Sutherland as the father. And who wouldn't drool as you watch Darcy stroll toward you through the mist....mmm...mmmm...mmmm.mmmm.mmmm!!! It is a great story with a great cast and good family watching. It is a must during our vacations together. Now we can watch it at my house as well as at my Mom's. I'd recommend it to everyone.

This version of Pride and Prejudice brings all of the social mores to the screen in stunning detail. Watching it multiple times helps you capture all the nuances and richness of this period. The romantic tension that builds to the final scene grips viewers even more intensely than the novel's description. This is a case of a picture (scene) being worth more than a thousand words!

Love the story line. You want to dislike Mr. Darcy but can't. He just has this calm and cool attitude you can't help but like. No matter what he does you fall for him. Amazing cast. Keira Knightly plays an amazing role.

This version does a splendid job of moving the story forward at a viewable and modern pace while staying true to the subtleties that make it infinitely interesting. Few movies are worth viewing more than once or twice. This version of Pride and Prejudice is worth viewning many times.

I had seen the movie online and despite the grainy quality, I thought it was good. So I decided to buy the movie, but the person I bought it from never sent the dvd, and their account has been closed down. Let's see if I can get my money back...

Another great Love story...a bottle of wine and cuddling on the couch kinda movie...a girls nite in...when you need a good cry ....

My brother bought me this movie for christmas, and I absolutely love it! I wished it would have been longer because it was so good. It kept you interested through the whole thing and it had a very good ending. I don't think one moment of it was boring. I'm sure you will love it as much as I did! I'm wanting to read the book now!

The author is a favorite of mine. I've watched this movie and have enjoyed it every time. It brought the classic to life for me and my daughter.

I Love this Movie! The chimistry between Darcy and Lizzy in this movie will leave you breathless. What a beautiful love they have. My favorite part of the movie is where Darcy touches Lizzy for the first time while helping her into the carriage, the way you can see Darcy secretly cherishing that slightest touch by flexing his hand at his side as he walked away and the way you can see in Lizzy's face that she had felt it too. Like they must have had a bolt of lightning shoot through there fingers. Big impact on the viewer for such a simple gesture. Beautiful Movie. A work of Art! Everything Jane Austin is I think.

I love this DVD because it is romantic and I like very much DVDs romantic. I want get it because I want to view it the times that I want. I recomended this DVD to the peoples that are very romantic and dreamers.

I feel that this is one of the best movies ever made. It captures the emotions, the daily life of the times and overcoming the pride and prejudice surrounding the classes of people. It was brilliantly cast with each daughter reflecting the individual and unique personality they possessed. The mother and father were perfectly portrayed as having the unique problem of finding husbands for their five daughters-the only career for young women of the times. The mixture of love, laughter, disappointment and happiness will pull you into the story as it plays out to the tumultuous ending. I would most hardily recommend this newest remake of a timeless classic!!

I absolutely adore this movie! True, it does deviate a bit from the original, and it does leave out a good deal, HOWEVER, I appreciate that. I can't always sit down and watch a 5 hour movie. This movie does a great job fitting the important parts of the story into a 2 hour frame. You still get a feel for the Bennett family, especially Lizzie and Mr. Bennett--who I LOVE in this movie. And Matthew MacFayden is a wonderful Mr. Darcy. He's very handsome in a different sort of way, which I find refreshing. And you won't find a better love scene than the morning mist scene toward the end. I watch this movie at least once a month.

I love this movie, it is beautiful and captivating. Perfect casting. It is one I will watch over and over again. The extras of the making of the film are terrific. If you are a purist you my like thr A and E version better..... However I like both films. This very worthy addition to any collection
Get it you will not be dissapointed

I have 3 daughters who range in age from 11 to 16 and all three enjoy watching this movie. My husband also enjoys this movie. It appeals to many ages and shows appropriate and inappropriate ways of trying to be in a relationship and the results. My family enjoys watching this movie over and over.

I was very disappointed in this version. I have seen every version of Pride and Prejudice and this is on the bottom of the list. The constant historical inaccuracies and unfortunate deviations from the Austen characters made it difficult for me to watch. I also did not like the ending, it was very Americanized, not like Austen at all. It wasn't all bad, I did enjoy Mr. Collins character as well as Charlotte Lucas.

If you don't mind if things aren't accurate and you haven't seen the five hour A&E version, then you'll probably like this version. If I purchase the dvd it will only be to complete my collection.

Jane Austen's novels are priceless. This story is particularly captivating. I chose to buy it on eBay because the price was right.

SHE PORTRAYS THE SPUNK AND DIGNITY WHICH THE PART DEMANDS. DONALD SUTHERLAND IS ALSO GREAT AS MR. BENNETT. NICE MOVIE. A FAVORITE FOR ME.

I absolutely loved this movie.Until now Sense and Sensibility was my favorite movie.Any Jane Austin movie or book is a must see.
