Of the at least four film and tv versions of Austen's novel, this is the most faithful in terms of casting and script adaptation. The costumes and sets are authentic and the perfromances right on target. For teachers--this is the best one to introduce students to the world of the novel. At a discount price, the double cassette (VHS) is a great buy.

) Another of Jane Austen books made into a movie. Excellent movie that I just had to see because I have Sense & Sensibility. Set in a time era of grace, beauty & respect this classic is beautifully done. You can escape into another world long ago forgotten. I have all 3 of these movies with different characters and they are set in the same century with different yet similar circumstances. I enjoy the beautiful horses, carriages and costumes of the period that were so elegant in these movies.
