The Presidents (DVD, 2005)

This is a great Purchase for anyone who loves American History. This is a Great Set that describes the presidencies of all 43 presidents of the United States. It is great to experience the Extraodinary Events that shaped the United States into the country that we all know it as today.

I am a teacher and even I learned things I did not know! This is an excellent supplement to any classroom instruction regarding the history of our nation's highest office.

Love this DVD. It not only gives you insight to each of the presidents but its also a very good history lesson as well! Loved it!

My dear father who lives with me was in 3 wars. He can hardly hear or see. I copied some of the episodes from this series from tv but missed a few. Bought it and he's watched it (also bought a huge hi-def tv for him)over and over. Having been a military officer for over 30 years, the history of the country and Presidents is so interesting for him. The series is excellent!

Great resource for 8th grade US History. Concise factual framing of the Presidents, their situation and support cabinet. Sprinkled with the odd fact that is thrown in for flavor and to remove some of the factual boredom.
Bought this video to supplement the lousy book that was used for the curriculum this year.

This series is outstanding for review with AP History students. The narration is entertaining, accurate, well written, and informative. I use it every year prior to the AP American History Examination to help students refresh their memories of the key events and accomplishments of all presidencies.

I'm a history buff, and this is everything you'd want or need to know about our 43 leaders of this country. Little known facts about their lives, their wives, their children, running opponets, vice presidents, you name it. Very educational and entertaining. I'm glad I purchased this DVD.

As a Presidential history buff, much was not new to me, but I liked the pace and depth which covered each president and certainly enjoyed the special feature on First Ladies. I only wished I taught history, I'd make my students watch it, can't quite find a justification for it in my French classroom!

Great Documentary especially at an Election Year!! Lot of information, photos, and tidbits from all our Presidents.

This is an excellent collection for any generation - I found that you could watch this over and over and pick up new information each time. Highly recommended.

I saw this program originally on cable and wanted to see it again but could never seem to find it showing. For Christmas I asked for the DVD set as a gift, and thanks to eBay and a terrific seller, I was thrilled to receive it Christmas morning. The Presidents is an inside look at the Office of the Presidency and background on the men who have held the Office and their families. I enjoy the format, it takes you through each President and gives you information that you don't usually learn in school. It gives you habits/quirks about each President, tells you if they were married, how many children they had, how long they were in office, and what political party they belonged to when they took office. I learned so much and am showing it to my children so they can enjoy history too. I highly recommend that history buffs, teachers, anyone buy this DVD set. It is well worth the time!

This DVD set was the perfect gift for my father. He has accumulated all of the workshop tools he could ever want or need, so what else is there to get him besides duct tape or wood glue? Even a practical man needs some practical entertainment for Christmas- and this was it. This set is perfect for any history lover- especially those into American History. I didn't have to question the quality of these documentaries, because the History Channel is known for their excellence in producing this shows. It is nice to have the shows all together in one set, to sit down at watch at one time, or to watch and learn about different eras of American Presidential History at different times. I would highly recommend this DVD set, as well as any other set by the History Channel to anyone who enjoys history as well as good quality television entertainment.
